Your first attack seemed as if you were defending the right for fans who pay their money and attend the games to criticize the team all they want, and this 2nd response confirms it. This is an entirely different topic; I took issue w/ "fans" at home wasting time typing critical BS during the game; I suppose one could make the argument that when booing the play-calling or offensive production at the stadium, at least your opinions are collectively heard by the team and players, whereas realtime insightful game analysis such as "we suck", "this is pathetic", etc., does not reach the players and coaches you are trying to "help." And, some old whiny-arse hippie is certainly not the right person to complain about TAF surcharges to. I feel your pain, really.

I mention the price I paid, not to taunt anyone over the high prices they paid for face value, but to infer that the constant barrage of negativity ultimately hurts the team and university by lowering attendance and demand. I was SHOCKED that I could get a cheap ticket so easily to a top10 match-up; usually these kinds of prices are only to be found for OOC rent-a-wins. BTW, I turned down a $10 on the 40yd. line b/c I wanted to sit in the NEZ w/ my daughter and her student tickets. You could've upgraded.

I applaud your support, really I do. I'm guessing you so vehemently defend the Negatards because you're a Les-hater, or a JL guy,or your friends are, or whatever. I NEVER tried to tell anyone to STFU or anything close to that nature; I defend your right to say whatever you want, pray to whichever gods you choose, vote for the idiot of your preference. All I tried to do was make the argument that the constant negativity does nothing good for the team, and thoughtful analysis should bear out that this line of reason has a lot less to do with the 'massive ego' I'm accused of than it does in all these clowns deluded enough to think they know more than the coaches.

I NEVER said it was dead- quite the opposite; and in fact, if you comprehend what I was trying to say, I'm admitting that I was wrong in thinking it may have lost a step- it's STILL magic. I realize that perhaps this misperception may be somewhat due to not getting to go to as many BIG games as in the past.

The examples you cite are all within the past five years...my point of reference goes WAY back beyond this timeframe. Can you compare stadium atmosphere at one of those games to Archie Manning playing w/ the cast on his arm (sr. yr., ??) Throwing oranges at FSU? #1 So Cal in '79? Earthquake game? Bama in '81, I think (Eric Martin slant TD 1st play of game?)

Look , I'm not just an old fart griping nothing's as good as it used to be... if I had to pinpoint something I think is still different then/now besides cars, technology, fashion, etc., I would say that perhaps the fans were more on the same page- you mention "rowdy", it seems perhaps more random chaos now. Used to be ALL the fans knew the corny cheers and did them TOGETHER, whereas today it is just the student section. I guess I do miss the sound of 68,000 screaming "Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait" in unison when the visitors come out on the field; today it's random boos.

For it's time -early 60's- chanting "Go to Hell,Ole Miss" was as shockingly distasteful as the students "suck that tiger dick" is today, with even the "grownups" and genteel ladies participating, not just the crazy kids.

But anyway, to iterate, Saturday night was as great as TS has ever been, IMHO.

Serious question because I suck at spotting a troll on here. Is this guy being serious or is this whole thing a troll?
