And folks think we need to go out and get another big name guy. No thanks! Give me a common sense HC and surround him with the best recruiters money can buy

yeah I have no doubt they all loved him as a person, but its pretty clear from their comments they had lost faith in his ability to put them in position to succeed.

the Les truthers who swore for years Les was not meddling have a giant egg on their face.

I just winder why the plays act so shocked and heart broken over Miles Leaving, yet they are excited and renewed at the same time. Its weird

seems he and Cam just said: "change things? frick that"
we knew that by halftime of the first game. In any normal job, he'd have been fired that day.

Classy my arse. He STILL hasn't taken ANY fricking responsibility.

If only he had that one second. Not "if only I wasn't fricking incompetent at offense".

Is that you have never been in a managerial position. The boss, however described may well ask for suggestions but ultimately it is his decision to make.

If every subordinate in an organization had is own way you would have chaos.

Look at it this way. Let's assume all the assistant coaches have this free rein you seem to think is so wonderful. The OC decides that the first play will be a deep pass to the right. The line coach disagrees and he instructs the line to fire out zone blocking, while the running backs coach instructs his charges to run a jet sweep to the wide side, while the QB coach thinks that a boot leg to the short side is just dandy. The receivers coach goes into a snit because he really wants a bubble screen.

Sounds productive doesn't it? The job of a manager is to accept suggestions from subordinates and then do what he thinks is best for the situation.

It also shows how dumb their various "where do you head coach" type retorts were.

We were correct. The players AND coaches are saying it too!

I guess they all need Rickdaddy's "factual" input to set them straight

Les seemed to completely ignore his offensive staff outside of Cam. It seems all of our position coaches are delighted to be given the green light to manage their position.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but perhaps with the coaching changes the staff has a clear message that everyone is fighting for their job and they've taken that message to heart with their personnel decisions. The status quo wasn't working, so any areas that were having an issue seem to have gone back to the drawing board.

Granted, it is perfectly plausible that Miles micromanaged certain position groups and now that he's out of the way everyone can do as they see fit, but it could also be because most of the staff may be unemployed in 2 months.

so with this in mind, it's plausible to say that Les really didn't take anyone else's suggestions seriously considering the lack of change that happened from last year to this?

I concur...I've never wanted Jimbo, and that was before this season. I guess Herman would be a good choice. But my wish is that O kicks arse this season and gives them no reasons to look any further.

He is still knighting despite the fact ousting les lead to LSU being liberated. I think at one point les did let his oc and DC call the shots. Then around 1/9/12 that changed.

I wanted to just leave les be since we fired him, but his criminal abuse of our talent pisses me off.

Possibly but even before his firing there had been rumors that he and Cameron essentially isolated themselves from the rest of the staff. Everything that has happened since points to this being true.

There were no tears shed for Cameron getting handed his walking papers amongst the staff and football admin

In a few years Miles will be scorned by all LSU fans. The amount of talent squandered is just insane.

I feel for the guys that came through the program and didn't get a chance to show what they could do, ruining their chance for the NFL. How much money did Les cost someone like James Wright by not getting more players involved.

I manage a reasonably large organization. Within it, I have many experts under me. People who I hired for their expertise. Expertise in some areas where they are more expert and up to date than I am.

If you think I run around telling them how to solve the problems THEY were hired to solve, you're a fricking retard.

They have words for that type of management approach and NONE of those words are good.
