Harold Perkins wasn't good in this game. I just watched the Carter the Power breakdown and not only does Perkins not cause much havoc, he gets in the way of other rushers fairly consistently. A decent amount of it might be scheme related. Meaning his rush lane and the twisting player's rush lane intersect. Or It might just be Perkins not staying in his lane.

The good news is that it is a fixable issue. I just wish our AA played like an AA.

Move him to Star and bench Burns. Not sure why this isn’t done yet

Perkins is way down the list of issues.

You don't think the Troj-enz Offensive plan was dialed in on him?

I mean watching the tape that Carter put on Youtube, he kinda looks like he is just running around doing whatever he wants. Its a pretty big problem.

I feel like he has had issues every year with getting outside of his assignment. As an outside rusher last season (when he did that) he was guided around the QB by the tackles and rushed to far upfield losing containment at least as often as he was impactful.

He is a spectacular athlete and can wreak havoc, he just needs to make sure he covers his assignments and does not impede his teammates doing theirs (I do not think the latter happens very often).

Whit Weeks is the best LB LSU has right now and it's not close.

He's lost on defense a lot of the time. He doesn't read well. He reacts well but can be fooled really easily. He's easy to block and offensive players can get leverage on him pretty easy. He has terrible anticipation skills. His high school coach made a similar comment about him being off the charts athletically but needed to learn how to play the game.

IDK what his stats were Sunday but Paris Shand seem to play well too. The DL as a unit played pretty well.

For all his athleticism, Perkins is the worst thing a defensive player can be - a tweener.

I'm starting to get a feeling that Kelly has a hard on for veteran guys that've been around. There's really no other reason to play guys like Burns, Sage and Penn.

There is absolutely no way we don't have more talented guys underneath them..because the bar is pretty low.

Out is scheme for him, regardless of what his "camp" wants for him. 4 tkls 2 assts. No real influence and lost in the OG wash on most key runs. Hope for improvement, but looks like another year of quiet contribution from HPJr.

Perkins is good in coverage but he isn't a safety

Downvote me I don’t care. Kid should be playing safety. The star would be a good fit for Perkins in my opinion.
