He had no play calling experience and was a LB coach at a small school. That’s not a splash hire. That was an excellent job of mining talent, not a splash.

Agree and tells you the mindset of the administration on their feelings for O. If O had performed this year, we’d be protective like Wade with his wiretap foibles. That Title IX is a consideration to get rid of O shows his days are numbered.

If he is fired because of this then that is understandable

I wouldn't go quite this far, but to answer the OPs question, it's because he is stubborn and for every good decision he makes, he makes 3-4 BAD ones.

He has an absolute star in Joe Brady 1 year, then goes get Scott fricking Linehan to replace him. Linehan still hasn't shown anyone what he contributes since his "specialty" areas has been abysmal to say the least.

I shouldn't have to even mention the disaster that Pelini has been.

These are just two examples.

Why is this?

I for one can’t stand the lip service he gives fans. He also doesn’t seem to have any idea what goes into the game plan. Lastly his off the field escapades aren’t becoming of a guy running a $100 million dollar business.

It’s a combo of the wierd personal life changes and the title ix stuff topped off by horrible losing

People want stability and O isn’t looking too stable on or off the field

He wasn't that good last season nor that bad this season. Somewhere in between, is that sufficient? If so, retain him. If not, part ways

Criticizing and wanting him fired are 2 different things

No position group has played well this year, but I’d argue DL has done more with less than LBs and DBs.

O model works fine if you make good hires. I think he makes safe hires sometimes instead of splash hires. Brady was a splash hire.

Brady was hired basically as a consultant that worked out way better than even O could have predicted. O didn’t even have the nuts to name him offensive coordinator from jump street. I’ll give him credit for finding Brady, but he got lucky with how that turned out.

And ur right, the O model could work, but it’s gonna take him finding another guy like Arranda that’ll stick around for a bit. That was a miles hire. O has yet to hire anyone like that. If he doesn’t find that guy soon, he’s in trouble.

Edit: to clarify that I’m not actively cheering for the man to be fired. If they give him another chance to right the ship, I’m cool with that. But he needs to knock it out the park on both sides of the ball.

I still support him, given all of the extreme circumstances surrounding this season and offseason, but next year there's no excuse. 10+ wins or get lost. He deserves no better treatment than Miles. Gotta be fair.

Funny how when LSU is winning everyone loves the HC but when LSU struggles everyone jumps ship. Why is this?

Because he made bad hires and spent the entire offseason stroking his own diCk and not bothering to prepare to defend the title.

Typical LSU response. Always want something new. The millennial way

This goes back WAY before the Millennials. Peter Finney once wrote that a perfect season for an LSU fan is to go undefeated, win the National Championship, then fire the head coach.

The bottom line is O is paid to win ballgames.

We have lost 38 players since January Shea Dixon said last week. Spin it any way you but roster management has been horrible and it's O's responsibility.

He's also responsible for the 3 coordinators who are dinosaurs.
