also recognize that he is in his 50's and he is who he is. There is not going to be this amazing transformation in offensive philosophy and recognition of when things are heading south. The defense really helped mask the one dimensional nature of the offense under JJ and gave Miles (and probably only him) a false sense of being correct.
Can't blame Reuben Randle, LSU, the state of Louisiana or the other players in the locker room for being upset and/or cutting their losses because his individual selfishness cost the team a fair shot at the title and in the case of Randle - draft position and $$$s.

We took it badly because, after arguably the most dominating regular season history, we got pantsed by a bitter rival and a coach many loathe.
It was embarrassing performance when we had the opportunity to lay claim to one of the finest seasons in college football history.
The bitterness also is created by a quarterback controversy for the ages.
It's over. It was still a great season but it ended with an arse rape and a whimper.

Losing and losing to Bama is bad enough. But the FACT that the coachs didnt give the team a chance to win is what is unbearable.

Bama was dominant in November - LSU found a way to win, and a great win it was. The rematch was something that should never have been allowed, but it was inevitable, given all the politicking by various powerful football interests. Even so, LSU had beaten Bama once before... and thus the drama got started.
What is unbearable for me is not that Bama won, but how LSU lost. This was not the same 13-0 team, not the team that beat Bama. Dispirited, badly coached, unprepared. I will never accept *CLM's excuse for why he did not use either of our other two QBs, who were both quite capable of stepping in to change things. Coach Miles did not give the team its fair opportunity to win. He did, however, set JJ up with goat horns, a crown he will wear forever.

It was esp appalling bc Miles is normally a great bowl coach and lsu normally plays well in big games. Its Saban who often comes into bowls tight and chokes.
But from the moment lsu walked onto the field they looked disinterested and lethargic.

I have a lot more than one reason:
1. We lost the National Championship
2. It was BAMA, and they never accepted that we "really" beat them the first time. National media didn't seem to accept it either.
3. THis is still a grat season, but it fell one game short of being almost magical, of being considered one of the greatest college football teams of all time. Our overall reoord/schedule is still WAY more impressive than BAMA's.
4. We should have never have had to play them again.
5. It was Saban-not the same as Bama.
6. LSU was totally outcoached.
7. It reinforced the idea that many people do have-that Miles plays favorites. I know a lot of LSU fans who don't get why JJ wasn't pulled from both the SECCG and the BCSCG, or why he even became the starter again when he was needed in only 1 game, the first BAMA game. How did going into that game justify Lee's benching after the great season he was having. IMHO, JL wins every other game but that one.

This football game reminded me of the Final 4 game vs UCLA. Just never in the damn game. SO HYPED and then sooooooo low.

our D actually played a great game given the circumstances. I think our O played as well as they could have given the worse than putrid Offensive game preparation and game plan put together by Miles.

Ever since JJ took over, offense had been going downhill. It was absolutely amazing that we put into place the same game plan that brought us no first downs in first half against GA, and not a whole lot better in first half against WKy and Ark.
I was also amazed at the way Les screwed over JL. It can't be good for recruiting new QBs, ..... and receivers.
I blamed most of the dumb offensive problems on JJ, this showed me that Les deserves more of the blame and I don't know if it will get better.

we don't like karma: Karma is a law in Hinduism which maintains that every act done, no matter how insignificant, will eventually return to the doer with equal impact.
lsu karma: remember back in august when the qb jefferson was in a bar fight at shady's?
remember how 25 other teammates saw nothing, when it was reported that jefferson had
kicked a marine in the face when he was laying on the ground?
i saw the video that someone recorded on their phone. i believe it was jefferson.
then lee took over as qb and was ranked #1 qb in the sec.
the team was wearing black armbands w/ #9 (jefferson's #.)
then, the team voted jefferson permanent team captain. and the next 5 games, lsu won only b/c of defensive play. the offense (jefferson) STUNK.
i believe i and most fans wanted to forget the kick as much as the team.
but,
ain't karma a bitch? i believe the team knew they didn't deserve the n.c. deep, deep down they regretted the kick incident.
also, les miles is an ohio native (yankee) who is just learning how to manage louisiana players.
i think les let the players committee dictate to him who would play. he did not act like a coach, he acted like a compassionate human, and that bit him and the players and the fans on the arse.

After the 8th game, LSU was ranked #78 in total offense and #15 in scoring offense.
After the Ga. game, LSU was ranked #75 in total offense and #12 in scoring offense.

im sure there is some annomoly to this information, albeit i dont believe it to be true, and 2, everyone's offense went to shite causing us to move up by default....
JJ led offense was beyond vomit...more like exploding diarhea...

This will be, like the '62 Ole Miss game for McClendon, the game for which fans will never forgive Coach Miles--ever. He may coach for another 15 years, but he will never be forgiven.
There comes a moment in every game when the coach must pull the goalee, leave the goal undefended and counterattack for the win. Coach didn't do this. That's not LSU's way; we fight back--always. If Coach had put in Lee or Mettenberger the game might not have been different, but it was apparent at halftime we had nothing to lose by that act. Lee was pulled from games for acts trivial compared to what Jefferson did. We won in Tuscaloosa by doing the unexpected--putting in Jefferson and running option plays. We could have done that here--think about putting in Mettenberger or Lee and the danger Alabama faced against the 20 yard strike. It might have loosened them. At minimum it would have galvanized the team, stirred the pot, and prevented all the cocktail party talk later about "why didn't we?" No one would have blamed Miles for pulling the goalee--they would have been proud of him. That's LSU's way.
