Once again the Rant proves it knows more than Paul Mainieri

The Rant knew Tyler Moore was good long before Mainieri.
The Rant said Hess is not a starter.

Think we should have a coach by committee approach? Like some kind of weird version of the Sims that the whole rant can play together except we're controlling the baseball team? Should be a good time.

I think you’re about as bright as George Costanza.

I'd pay to watch that train wreck

The rant also thought Alex Edward was a more versatile version of Blake Dean.

Sorry to burst your delusions of grandeur, but you don't know what you don't know. If you, and the rant, had its way Hess would not be in the bullpen; he'd be in minor league ball.

If you notice, Paul Mainieri always seems to align things in the best way possible in May. The fans always seem to think it takes him this long to figure it out. Do you consider the fact that maybe he sees the same things we see all season but he wants to give things time to play out and give guys multiple opportunities and collect as much data as he can before settling into a final product. It's not always about seeing how many games you can win in February and March and April. It's about positioning the team to be its best in May and June. When has he not done that? When has he finished the season with the fans still not thinking we had our best team on the field?

The rant also wanted Kade Scivicque to pitch.

When after 12 years at LSU, he has only 2 NC appearances. Seems another early exit from Omaha is on schedule for 2019.

How many other active coaches have made the championship series multiple times?

This is revisionist history.
When Hess was mowing people down as a closer the rant absolutely wanted him as a starter.

So you thought we would have made more championship appearances if some of our players on the bench would have been starting in some of those years?
I never thought that.
Maybe they weren't good enough. Maybe they didn't play their best. Maybe we got unlucky. Maybe some coaching decisions could have been better.
I honestly don't think I've ever felt we ended the season without our 9 best healthy players on the field and our best healthy pitchers on the mound though...

you're justifying his futility by stating others haven't done it?
This is a always a copout.

How many appearances would be acceptable to you?

So you're excuse is everyone is futile but the LSU coach shouldn't be futile?
You sounds like a dumbass.

The issue with Hess being a closer last year was that he probably wouldn't have been used that much. If Hess isn't in the rotation last year, Hilliard is our only reliable starter, because Labas still gets injured and after that, the only other pitcher with 10+ starts last season was Gilbert. So we probably don't get to many situations where we use a closer.
