Last Saturday evening I was tailgating at the USC (the west coast one) game. All the TVs at the tailgates were tuned to LSU Bama and just about everyone was pulling for LSU (well, except for a few die-hards still upset about the 2004 split championship).
Last night I talked to a friend's son who went to BC and lives in Seattle. He said he watched the game from a sports' bar and the place went crazy when LSU made the two point conversion.
Got a call just now from a guy I occasionally work with here in Los Angeles. A big Penn State fan, and he was also over the moon about the game.
Last Saturday night everybody in 49 and a half states who follows college football was, for at least that night, an LSU fan.

I have friends in Minnesota and Utah who have sent congratulations. It's a nice feeling.

I've had congrats from friends in CA, Iowa, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York and Colorado, so far.

Everybody is sick of Alabama.

Have they put out ratings for the games that day? I'm curious how many were tuning in.

They’re going to wish they never encouraged us soon enough. Evil laugh

Have a feeling the only LSU fans left in the country will soon primarily be in southeast Louisiana with some alumni spread across the country. Brian Kelly has handed the chainsaw to the gorilla again and he's on a mission to restore order. Saturday night was Step One.

I was in a mall in Dallas Saturday wearing LSU clothes and a lady stopped me to tell me she hoped we’d beat Bama. She was tired of seeing Them always win.

When we’re above average, we’re America’s team. LSU and fans are the anti establishment. Win or lose, our fans are great for content.

Yeah, I think a lot of people just want to see things open up and see some "new blood" in the CFP rather than the same old Bama, OSU, Clemson, and UGA. Maybe it is time for a field of 8. Seems hard to get behind expanding to 12 though.

I was in Montepulciano representing the colors and I got at least 10 "Geaux Tigers" and 2 shoutouts from a Gator and an Auburn fan.

Bama fatigue. Hopefully the nation has LSU fatigue in a few years.

Book it.

I think the LSU-Bama game is always of interest nationally when both teams are highly ranked.

There were a few sad folks in Lafayette, but I’m sure they had plenty of LSU fans around to make them feel even worse.
