Cooper was MOP for this team at Omaha. Make no mistake about that. Otherwise, you didn’t watch the games.

Cooper, Floyd, and even Ackenhausen did brilliant work, without any one of which we lose the championship. But if you are picking only one pitcher to be on the team it is Skenes by a country mile. This guy had two picks and left Skenes off.

Floyd did awesome against Wake and Florida. But he didn’t go 8 innings of scoreless ball. Cooper went 9.2 scoreless, but it wasn’t consecutive, which is a whole lot more difficult.

“How he was used” has zero to do with his turn around at the end of this season that is meaningless, emotional drivel

You don’t watch enough(or simply cannot comprehend) if you don’t understand why he was better at the end of the year. You still haven’t said the right reasons.

Skenes saved our season.

8 IP in a scoreless game.

We won both of his starts.

We lost one of Floyd's starts. He gave up 5 runs in 13 IP.

Y'all are stuck on the 17 Ks. I get it.

But Either of those 2 pitchers ahead of Skenes is absolutely stupid.

Not surprised y'all would fall for it.

I get this, but at the same time one could argue for tabbing Floyd and Cooper. Floyd raised his game from good to great and championship level. Cooper pitched out of his mind and accomplished something no one saw coming. Absolutely no disrespect to Skenes, but he was exactly who we thought he was, the others far exceeded expectations.

That's just senseless psychobabble drivel.

So Skenes only did as expected so he's punished for it. Got it.

It's not like we beat UF 1-0 and Floyd pitched 8 shutout innings. Oh wait that would be Skenes against Wake Forest.

Oh no. Skenes is going to be so depressed he didn’t make an Omaha reporter’s All Tournament Team.

FTR, Skenes made my all tournament team, which is more important than this random person we never heard of's.

Les, just curious as to what you saw from Cooper to get better. Was it just getting ahead in counts?

Not sure where he gets Lee as the catcher. While I was watching LSU and Wake replay he missed several balls to the backstop and balls in the dirt that runners advanced on. Didnt UF catcher, Riopelle, have like 5 HRs...

His velocity increased at the end of the season, honestly all it looked like was he increased his arm effort. Like he always had it in him.

I rewinded the tape last week, Feb 25th vs Iowa he started the game. His first pitch of the game was a 90min fastball.

Then I jumped to his 1st outing in mid March vs A&M. He hit 91mph once, but mainly pitched at 88-89-90.

In the postseason he did not really dip below 90mph, except his last outing after the stomach bug. I don’t put much weight into that because he was sick.

But he basically went from a guy pitching at 88-89-90 to a guy pitching at 91-92-93. Everything plays different at that speed. He used to only really get K’s on his off speed but you can see his FB velocity was surprising hitters at the end of the year.

Yeah, I was a little surprised seeing 92 from him later in the season.
