With the way the ball is flying out this year across the country I"m curious if we should be concerned if we make it to Omaha. I remember that stadium playing really large and home runs at the box were simply fly balls the first time we played at the new stadium.

You haven't heard? This team doesn't have the pitching and their batting average went down after they started playing in the best conference in the country.

Teams in small parks that lead the country in homers should worry more than lsu.
Examples: Tennessee and south carolina
Teams that hit lots of homers but alot less doubles

It was a bigger issue in dead bat era. Not as much anymore.

That "new" stadium is really nice with a nice location. However, they completely screwed it up by having home plate facing south. Give me dank old Rosenblatt on a hot night with the prevailing summer wind blowing out and not in.

In all honesty that is something to be concerned about. That park favors pitching, defense and small ball over power hitting. But I think we will be just fine.

with the extra base hits this team gets, they'll thrive with those power alleys.

I'm more concerned about making it than hitting home runs.

the baseballs will have given everyone a little bit of false hope with the HR.
More worried about pitching and defense. It's not the offense's fault they have to out-hit those things. Thats a lot of pressure.

Yeah once we get there Jay will start coaching them up on the downward swing angle and everything will work out well.

Crews and white are very good hitters as well
Not just home runs
It might actually help our pitching with guys like money and Coleman and Floyd who are usually good for a home run a game

Yeah pitches 6” off of the plate will be strikes… so should benefit LSU pitching.

Hurd and floyd should be much better on the mound once we get out of sec play just because of the zone

By comparison
2010 (last year at Rosenblatt) 32
2021 28 TD Ameritrade
2022 28 Charles Schwab Park
The park plays big, but the balls have more juice. An actual Homerun is still a homerun. Homeruns in matchboxes like Tenn & USCe are long fly balls at Charles Schwab.

Exactly. We'll need a little bit of luck in the supers to make it to Omaha, then there's a stronger chance than not that we are one and two.

I'm not even thinking about it yet. I want to see if/how we navigate a regional and super with this pitching staff. I'm not worried about us offensively - that will come down to simple plate discipline and matchups. We have the guns to score runs in any ballpark, as long as we execute a good plan for our matchups.
