It'll be the quietest 100,000 people you've ever been around.

I think many will be surprised at how loud it will be, at least at the start. If LSU pulls away, Texas fans will pack it in. If the game is close in the 4th quarter, the building will be rocking.

Key to the game is the Texas run defense. If we can’t run on their inexperienced (but talented) front 7, it will be a dogfight. But if we can, we win going away.

Miami turned out to not be as good as advertised but, everybody had them higher going into last season than what the horns are this year.

Beside QB and safety what stands out to you about ut football team?

Correct me if I'm wrong, halftime vs Miami was something like 27-3.

What’s the game plan against genius Herman in this packed hostile environment?

Is Joey B announcing his intentions for the headman after this one?

1. Match Genius against Genius with Aranda.
2. Well since you picked us to lose, that would be a dumb decision; however, I’ll play your game. Yes, he will announce on an interview with T-Bob.

LSU: .27
Texas: 10

No I actually think we win. I just posted that reply because everyone was going off on me for wanting to chat about the first big game. How dare I think we need more depth on the D-Line?

I think we win. Offense is going to be very balanced and our WR’s will be featured to max out their abilities this year. Joe can get them the ball, he can run, he can manage, he can lead. Good back and a better scheme for our OL should result in one of the better offenses we’ve had in some time.

A little worried about depth overall on D and our opponent will be pumped and have a hype train going full steam ahead. 8-0 and #2 in the country when we show up at Bama if we win this one.

From everything I have seen and read their CBs are both tr sophs. They both did play some last year as backups. One was very highly ranked at CB. Still though going from tr fr backup to being the man is a big jump. Also, not much depth behind them. Safety and nickel are a solid trio.

The horns will have to pick their poison. Bring safety help to the box to stop the run leaving their corners exposed. Or leave them back in coverage VS LSU's four wides and let their DL and LBs try to stop the run.

Don't sweat the "D".This is the most talented and deepest LSU "D" in some time. Solid two deep everywhere DL, LB and secondary. I hope it's a recording setting (HOT) day in Austin come sept 7th. LSU's depth would really show. No way horns "D" would be able to hold up.

Never have I heard anyone describe DKR as a hostile environment. Too many casual socialites in the money sections. I have heard die-hard Horn fans complain about this for years. They are, in fact, tea sippers of the highest degree.

Texas has 2starters back on defense. LSU should score early and often.
once again - the "returning starters" argument is way too simplistic.

Texas has had two consecutive top 3 recruiting classes. Maybe the young guys are better than the ones that graduated.

Maybe not, but I've always hated the "returning starters" argument.

What if a team went 0-12, but returned 22 starters. Would that be a good thing?

I know Royal has gotten better since it was full wine and cheese but it’s not Auburn or the swamp.

no, Miami was a fraud that had lost the last 3 games the previous year by double digits - and they had a suspect QB. Preseason rankings don't mean a thing - Miami wasn't good.

again, Miami was a fraud - and finished the season with 6 losses and a coach that quit.

easy to call them a fraud after the fact. still all those people and polls that do preseason rankings had the canes much higher. two of the three were by exactly 10. two of the three were top 10. that suspect QB won his first 11 starts.

all these preseason mags that do individual position group rankings had the canes DL, LBs and DBs top 10. can't find the horns in any of the top 10. as for the offensive position groups the only groups ut had a clear advantage is QB and WR.
