How bout this. Won't mention the phrase "starters lost".

horns are not returning top three tacklers to their defense. They are also not returning seven of top 10 tacklers to their defense either. all seven were from the front seven.

They won't have their top four returning in sacks. nor their top two in tackles for loss. that's a lot of production not returning for anybody.

that's expecting a lot from TrSoph, RFr and TrFr to be that productive second game into the season.

if those young guys were better than the ones that just left , they should have been starting or at least playing more.

I think game 2 the Texas defense still hasn’t figured things out considering how young and inexperienced they will be. They do have 2 of the best safeties in college football but I still think LSU will be able to put up some points and with all the talent on the LSU D stopping Sam Ehlinger shouldn’t be a problem.

31-17 LSU

I watched the sugar bowl yesterday. There wasn't anything about that horn "O" that really looked outstanding. Hell in the first quarter between uga's punter and that fumble the game should have been over. ut should have been up by four tds.

The Texas D has some experienced older players that won't see the field that often, barring injury, like DBs Chris Brown and Josh Thompson. The following players are likely to factor in the most in early September.

Players on Texas' D that have played enough to know what they're doing...

S - Caden Sterns
S - Brandon Jones
Nickel - BJ Foster
LB - Jeffery McColluch
DE - Malcom Roach
DE - Ta' Quan Graham
NT - Keondre Coburn
NT - Gerald Wilbon

Players that will sort of know what they're doing...

B-Backer (DE/LB hybrid) - Joseph Ossai
CB - Anthony Cook

Tossed in and learning to swim....

CB - Jalen Green
LB - Ayodele Adeyoe
S - Demarvion Overshown

OK there's your starting "D". are they going to play the whole game?

LSU "D" easily goes two deep across the board. I will be surprised if horns break 20 against the tiger "D".

Why do you keep putting D in quotes? You don't like the abbreviation or something?

To answer your question, no they will not play the entire game. They won't need to play the entire game. Defensive line will rotate heavily, and I should have mentioned those players who will be seeing around 40% of the snaps there.

1st group - Graham, Coburn, Roach
2nd group - Marquez Bimage (Jr), Gerald Wilbon (Sr), Jacoby Jones (JUCO)
