There are like 2 players on our team who can hit a breaking ball right now

PM is a douche. Grow some balls and argue a call every now and then. I really hate this guy.

Jesus Mathis never met a pitch he didn’t like.

He got to a full count, so there were at least three that he didn't like.

I haven’t seen a breaking ball our last two at bats.

And if you pursue only players that pro teams have a lukewarm interest in at best, you will ultimately end up with a very average college baseball program.

What kind of program do you think you end up with when all of your top recruits end up going pro? You’re actually arguing that it’s better to sign a bunch of guys that won’t make it to campus? Jesus

I fricking hate stealing there for a few reasons. One being mathis has been awful the last 6 or so at bats, on top of killing the opportunity to drive up this guys pitch count

It was great timing for the hit and run. Mathis got a good pitch to hit he just whiffed on it

LSU fans never cease to amaze me. You’re now criticizing the coach for not getting in the ump’s face over a clear out.

At the minimum foul it off. You can’t completely whiff and leave the runner high and dry.

I would agree if we were talking straight steal.

I don’t hate the hit and run there though. Mathis has been slumping and the pitcher is throwing strikes. I like taking Mathis’s head out of it and just asking him to make contact.

He got the perfect pitch to do it but unfortunately he couldn’t get the bat on it.

My thoughts exactly. 9 times out of 10 Mathis hits that ball hard. But he just happened to miss it. It was a good pitch for a hit and run
