A lot of people on here will talk shite about how Miami is just a "weak ACC team" and "they're not used to SEC defenses" and "we'll demolish Miami" so on... These are the people who start threads like "Our program has fallen so far", "let's hope lsu has a losing season so X will get fired", "this is the worst team we've had in ages".. blah blah blah blah.

They're fricking POSs. They're idiots. They know nothing about football. They just want a winning team because someone at their work pulls for Bama and that guy makes them look bad at work every year. frick em.

Miami deserves a lot of respect. What a great opener for both teams! Can't wait to watch this one!

Basically saying Donte Jackson wasnt that good is kinda crazy to me. He wasnt a bonafide superstar but the kid was an extremely solid corner. Just couldn't catch an interception to save his life. The second half of the Auburn game last year might be one of the best performances I've seen from an LSU corner in a long time. Kid was GLUED to any receiver that lined up across from him.

If he can add some good weight I think hes a starting corner in the NFL.

Edit: this post is pertaining to the post Sampson linked in the few posts above.

Bc you have an SEC washout coach that led y’all to victories over a division 2 schedule only to shite the bed at the end against actual competition? This thing won’t be close. Yalls 5th year dog shite quarterback stands no chance against this defense. This isn’t 1988 chief, it’s going to be bad for y’all in Dallas.

This shows the ignorance of a lot of LSU fans. I’d rather have Miami’s washout coach than the the one LSU currently has.

Donte Jackson was an average cornerback. Probably below average by LSU’s standards but his numbers and play tell a low C story. And I was saying that in the context of people overly concerned with replacing production opposite greedy. Averaging 25-35 tackles and one pick a season won’t be difficult to replace.

I dont think he was average. I'd say above average but not a star by any means. Hoping he breaks out in the NFL.

Good stuff, brother.

I have concerns about Miami's strength up front. Not sure there's enough depth in the trenches to go to war with LSU.

The match ups on the perimeter will be fun to watch. Looking forward to seeing Ahmmon and Jeff Thomas face off against our secondary.

Expecting a close game but hoping LSU can outlast them and control the game in the trenches.

If Miami captures offensive rhythm LSU is in trouble.

This. Our offense may or may not click, especially because Miami is no slouch on either side of the ball by a long shot. If our offense gets going, though, I think it's our game to lose because...LSU defense. But if we pull what we did against Moo State last year defensively, it's all yours. I'm just very, VERY doubtful that's going to happen. But if you guys have some offensive consistency, Burrow is going to have to pull it out on the other side or it's over without a doubt.

There are questions that just won't be answered until kickoff. Looking forward to it, and I (I think most here do, too) respect this good 'Canes team!

This game can only go two ways. If both teams are prepared and mistakes are kept to a minimum, it's a very close game going into the second half of the 4th quarter(3 pts or less). However, if Miami makes any mistakes early , interception or allowing the LSU QB (whomever that will be) to get a rhythm, LSU will come at you Canes in waves, much like the Peach Bowl years ago.

I think this is probably accurate. Our offensive line is a question mark, we have had trouble finding a left tackle and at the end of the spring ended up bumping our best interior lineman, Navaughn Donaldson outside and hope to replace him with Boulware who is a transfer from UT. Assuming Rosier ends up starting, he is really streaky and when he’s off we can’t get anything going offensively. On the other hand we do have a lot of talent at the skill positions and on the Defense. We have some really good edge rushers in Joe Jackson and Jonathan Garvin and I’ll put our linebackers against anyone’s.

If our offensive line is up for the challenge I like our chances. If we can’t protect Rosier and start turning it over it could get ugly. I think it’s the same dynamic with our defense against your offense, though no one really knows what you have at QB at this point.

It should be a good game, these big time out of conference early season games are what make college football awesome. I’m looking forward to the trip; LSU has the best tailgaters I’ve come across. I just hope we are able to fair a little better on the field than last time.
