re: "Miami fans, I've watched your last 13 games, and I have some observations..."

Fairly accurate write up by the Oregon gentleman. We are kicking Navaughn Donaldson out to tackle who played well as a true freshman at guard last year and is our most talented offensive lineman on the roster. I’m more concerned about our guards, who are experienced guys (RS Jr and RS Sr) but are Al Golden era holdovers who aren’t particularly talented.
As to our defensive line, losing Norton and McIntosh to the draft sucked, particularly since neither had any business leaving early. Gerald Willis and Pat Bethel are competent replacements, and while they won’t replicate what McIntosh did as a disruptive 3 technique we tend to kick Demetrius Jackson inside at times who will help and our defensive ends are the strength of the team. Joe Jackson and Jon Garvin are first round talents.

I think this is probably accurate. Our offensive line is a question mark, we have had trouble finding a left tackle and at the end of the spring ended up bumping our best interior lineman, Navaughn Donaldson outside and hope to replace him with Boulware who is a transfer from UT. Assuming Rosier ends up starting, he is really streaky and when he’s off we can’t get anything going offensively. On the other hand we do have a lot of talent at the skill positions and on the Defense. We have some really good edge rushers in Joe Jackson and Jonathan Garvin and I’ll put our linebackers against anyone’s.
If our offensive line is up for the challenge I like our chances. If we can’t protect Rosier and start turning it over it could get ugly. I think it’s the same dynamic with our defense against your offense, though no one really knows what you have at QB at this point.
It should be a good game, these big time out of conference early season games are what make college football awesome. I’m looking forward to the trip; LSU has the best tailgaters I’ve come across. I just hope we are able to fair a little better on the field than last time.

I don’t doubt it. Out of curiosity, if anyone knows, how big an allotment did LSU get?
We will have close to 20k there I think. Our ticket office got an allotment of 15k which is just about sold out. We have had serious home attendance issues in the last decade but for big road games we actually usually have a solid turnout for a school of our size.
We lose a ton of guys to the draft every year that have no business leaving and this year was no different losing our two starting DTs McIntosh and Norton. Johnson is a little undersized and never really considered leaving and I think Jackson’s game would have been picked apart by NFL scouts if he had declared for the draft. Some guys have smart people in their ear and a lot more have yes men and agents with ulterior motives.
What’s up gents. I’ll be headed to Dallas for the game. I was in Atlanta for the last game but I drank enough that I don’t remember what happened.
I lived in New Orleans for a few years and have been to a few games in BR and am looking forward to tailgating.
As for the game I’m a little more concerned than most; our offensive line is a bit shaky and Rosier is a lot shaky and those are the things that can get us in trouble against a team like LSU. While I understand a lot of you guys are concerned with Orgeron there is no doubt you guys will be up for this game and should have a pretty sizeable advantage crowd wise.
