CPM may be responsible for the lack of pitching depth. I respect him and think he knew baseball so I’m not sure why we haven’t had a stud pitcher since Lange. I know he had lots of hurt arms. If he had stayed who was he planning to sign?

It took Woodward a good month to hire someone. Maybe there weren’t many pitchers available by then for Johnson to sign.

The biggest areas of concern that are def connected to Johnson is defense and hitting. I agree Johnson needs time…as bad as I hate to admit it. But fielding can and should improve immediately. These are same kids as last year. They haven’t forgotten how to field.

The offensive numbers are better than 2021 across the board. Literally better at everything than last year.

Stop fricking bitching about it.

What is it that makes you hate to admit what’s right?

I don’t doubt that but as we get further into the SEC season, those offensive numbers are going to drop. Let’s see where they are at the end of the season before comparing.

You know this how? Last years team didn’t play a single quality opponent until SEC play started. They scored 27 total runs in the first 3 series, and then improved from there.

It’s too early to tell. You need to throw out ooc games and just look at SEC games when there’s a larger sample size.

Jaden Hill and Marceaux were both stud pitchers but between Covid and injuries we didn't see as much of them as we would like.

I’m responding specifically to people saying the offense, to this point, is worse.

That is factually incorrect no matter how you try to spin it.

I feel like we’re hitting the ball well enough to win most games. Am I missing something?

We fielded great last year and hit the ball decent and still wasn’t a good team.So the only thing that has been consistently bad is pitching so if you fix that you will fix the main issue.Fielding can improve, hitting can improve, you can’t make average pitchers good over night so Johnson needs at least 2 recruiting cycles and some transfers to build a solid staff.Good pitching can make an average defense look good on a stat sheet

That’s got to be primarily based on weaker teams. This is a message board dude. It’s a place to vent.

Is it? Or are you still posting emotional drivel? Vent all you want but don’t get butthurt when others tell you your whining is just that.

That Marceaux guy was ok last season. And Cole Henry was a stud, though we were kind of robbed of him.

You sure about that? Cause it seems like maybe they have.

Yep….The offensive numbers are propped up by the non conference games.

Through 22 games last year, against an easier schedule (no Shriners), LSU had scored 23 fewer runs than they have so far this season.

Seriously, you idiots just slinging shite against the wall need to go sit in the corner.

They need to go back to the days of practice with no talking allowed.
