The surgeon did the cutting, but he wasn't alone in that operating room. There wasn't a surgical nurse, 2nd MD, anesthetist or janitor to make sure it was the correct limb?
This is just inexcusable. Everyone involved should be working the line at Chipotle now.

What do you think would be a fair settlement?
What would it be worth to me if that happened to me? Wow, really hard to say, but many millions. What would it be worth to you?
This happened in Ohio, and I don't know the law there. But if it happened in Louisiana, there is a cap of $500,000 plus future related medical expenses. That's it, that's all she would get. Actually she wouldn't get that, because her attorney will get a percentage of it.

Yeah, I don’t think the dr has a leg to stand on in this situation

Price of surgery gets even more expensive. What once used to cost an arm and a leg now costs 2 legs

I'll ask the obvious... Why even mark the leg?
I had a bad accident once and had a severe leg injury with bone exposed in my leg. It took several surgeries to save the leg and before every one, someone came in with a sharpy and wrote, "wrong" on the other leg. Even at a young age, it was mind blowing as there was a hole in my left leg a grown man could put his fist in.

Was the surgery done on a buy one get one free day?

Changed her name from hop-a-long to ride a long.

I'm completely stumped as to how that could have happened.
