They really should have beaten Clemson though, some of it was self inflicted with mistakes and dropped passes but there was also some bad calls

Do you know what “self” in self-inflicted means? It means Ohio State screwed up. They played one top flight team all year, and they choked. THAT’s one of the ingredients of a champion - they have to perform when the lights are on.

Even if they get a couple of breaks in that game, and they beat Clemson, it still was an evenly matched game, with a slight edge to Ohio. LSU ran roughshod over Clemson.

Funny they seem to also forget Dobbins had a pretty serious ankle injury. He was responsible for a lot of OSU’s offensive production.

so LSU was going to lose to OSU (who pretty inarguably did not have as strong a defense as Clemson) without one of their top two offensive weapons?

Okay. Sure.

On draft night you saw just how pathetic OSU was. They put out a ton of burrow affiliates posts. Yea he was a buckeye, but LSU made him what he is so get off our dicks

The only reason OSU even made the playoffs was because of Georgia’s qb.

We might wanna stay away from that one, huh?

Oh, they know that LSU would have beaten their arse too. They just can say shite like that now bc we didn't actually play on the field. LSU wasnthe best team in the nation last year and it wasn't really that close. Ohio state is just upset bc burrow came here and won a natty with the best team ever in cfb history. They're royally pissed about it.

Reminder that the Big 10 has scored 23 total points in their last 3 playoff games.

0% chance Ohio State keeps up with the LSU offense.

I agree with you 100%, but I still have to pinch myself anytime I read something like that last sentence to make sure the 2019 season wasn't some fantastic dream. After so many years wandering in the offensive football wilderness, it still feels unreal that we have finally emerged into the sunshine of the promised land!

I just don't think they could've hung with our offense. Especially, in the second half.

As an OSU fan I think I agree with this. I think LSU the last 4 games was so fing good on offense. Maybe OSU's DL is able to get way more pressure on Burrow than most teams and that creates some bad balls that OSU's secondary could snag

The biggest crime was not getting to see OSU's secondary against LSU's WRs. Okudah/Chase would have been just damn fun with Arnette and Wade on Jefferson and Marshall

I would have LSU in a 42-31 type game. Respectable game where Burrow makes some plays and with Fields injured he has no way to answer in the second half (especially since Dobbins would have been hobbled by that point)

Well if their QB wasn’t a fricking choke artist, they would’ve made the title game. Fields decided to throw a pick in the endzone instead of a game winning TD.

That pick was all on the WR who broke off his route just as Fields let it go.

If OSU had beaten Clemson (which they should have ), we’d have put a worse beat down on them than we did Clemson.

Venables did a much better job scheming against us in the first half than OSU’s DC would have, and they were better matched against our offense with players like Skalski and Simmons.

Sure, Young would’ve chased Burrow out of the pocket more, but Burrow would’ve burned them even more.

I'm not a fan of the transitive property in sports, but why should Ohio State think they would have beaten us if they couldn't beat the team that we destroyed in the title game?

I disagree to some degree. I think our offense was fing good all year. I think our defense got healthy and stepped up the last four games. We give up sacks. We've done it all year. But that's just how our offense rolls. Big plays and an occasional sack. Third and 20 doesn't affect this offense. I think OSU has a good chance to win it all next year. But then again, so does Bama and Clemson. Should be fun

Anyone who watched the playoffs can only reach a limited number of conclusions:

1. The Big 12 is barely a P5 conference.

2. LSU and Clemson were clearly the 2 best teams in the playoffs (and, likely in the nation, with ONLY other SEC teams having an argument to be comparable to Clemson, i.e. Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia)

3. LSU was clearly better than Clemson and the best CFB team of 2019 - and likely of all time.

I’d probably rather see OSU get another one next year rather than Bama or Clemson......but OSU wasn’t beating LSU this past year, I’d say Bama with Tua woulda rolled their arse too.
