Should 7 year olds kids not be brought to Tiger Stadium or something in your mind?
Hell no, the little brats are taking up space that would be better filled by staggering,bourbon-soaked, raging lunatic coonasses screaming till their throats bleed...it's an essential element of our mytique.

you would be okay with your 7 year old son/daughter asking about what sucking that tiger dick means?
Ummm, kids aren't as naive as you're imagining---you ever hear little kids curse? They catch on pretty quick and use the words in proper context, even if they don't say "it" in front of Mom & Dad.
Your 7 yr old already knows what "dick" means.

My dad was an avid chanter of "ha ha ha ha haha haha ha a-hole! a-hole!" and "kick their arse!" He graduated in the class of '73
I remember being exhilarated and emboldened by being allowed to scream "Go to Hell, Ole Miss" around grown-ups at games in the 60's. As a student in the 70's I moved on to the harder stuff, "arse" and "a-hole", then snuck into the student section in recent years to chant STTDB with my daughters...
"Go to Hell Ole Miss" was like a gateway drug...

What, do you still say "tinkle" or "pee-pee"?

Oh I see we have 2 dip schits that want to hang with their parents at the games...great times...take lots of pics for posterity....maybe you 2 could get together and share a trip down memory lane.
Oh, for crying out loud, 1st you people are whining about "7year olds asking what STTDB means" and being scarred for life, and now you're making fun of someone for going to a game with his parents....
Gee, what happened to that "family atmosphere" that was so important a page or two ago?

Instead of singing STTDB, maybe the students could sing "Grabbing women on side of dey neck, dick"

I wonder if they will dedicate the return of "Neck" to Jeryl Brazil?

They may as well bring Tiger Rag back because "a**hole, a##hole" is G rated compared to what this generation of students comes up with.

I think the real issue is (and this is coming from someone who has been going to games since the mid 70s) that before the days of television, Tiger Stadium was truly an intimidating place for visiting teams. Drunkeness and obscenities were VERY common back then. I remember people would throw glass whisky bottles. That was all part of what made Tiger Stadium so freaking intimidating. That is how it got its reputation as Death Valley. I remember when we played Florida State for the Orange bowl spot and everyone just walked right into the stadium....oranges in tow and proceeded to pelt the field with them all game long. Funnest game I ever went to without a doubt. The difference is now it is all on television...and LSU will have none of that being broadcast to the nation. Truth be told though we as a fanbase were much more into the games back then. We took pride in being nasty to the opposing team. How else can you explain having the reputation as the most intimidating stadium despite mediocre teams throughout the 70s?

Makes sense.

Nice anecdote except it's completely wrong.
Tiger Stadium had been referred to as Deaf Valley for decades before it began being morphed into Death Valley after the 1959 Sugar Bowl.
Also, LSU only played FSU once in the 70's, in the 79 season. But that was game 7, so not likely would have been for the bowl bid. You talking about 82?

You must either hang out with the kids, the trash or perhaps on the far end of Bourbon Street.

Yes I said I have gone to the games since the 70s. The Florida State game was in the early 80s. Death Valley was posted in the stadium at least since the early 80s I think. I have been going 35 years so I have no idea what year they first put "Death Valley" on the West Side. When I first went to games there was no upper deck so it is likely "Death Valley" went up after 1979. The point is the reputation was built long before it went up. Doesn't matter though. The fans back then were more intense, just as intoxicated, just as vile and notably rarely left games early. Let me revise that...the fans are just as intense now when Alabama comes to town but the fans of the 70s-80s were intense for every game. Maybe it was because we weren't used to winning regularly.
