Trying to play devil's advocate here.
Actually "STTDB" is pretty funny - among yourselves and maybe to hurl at each other on campus, but NOT 10,000 PEOPLE IN UNISON !!!

I know the students are doing it "just because" or to "go against authority" and because of peer pressure - "everybody else is doing it" or just to spite the recent alumni, older alumni, visitors, or a tv audience.
Or maybe it's just to have the glorious thrill of hearing 10K of your fellow students scream an over-the-top profanity and just see everyone else's reactions ????
