There was DEFINITELY no widespread belief among the fanbase they wanted Burrow gone...AT ALL.

In fact, many were excited about him in his first game vs. Miami despite the fact he was only 11/24 (46%) for 140 and 0 TDs. THAT was how low the bar for QB play at LSU was. And certainly no one wanted him gone after the good performance at Auburn, the blowout of #2 Georgia, the good game (though in a loss) vs. A&M, and his great performance after being rocked vs. UCF in the Fiesta Bowl.

Perhaps some of the plant-baws in the AP wanted him gone after 2018. But in no, way, shape for form was that the overall opinion of the fanbase.

People on this board wanted Burrow gone after his first season with a New Coach, New WR group, New playbook, JD going through the same thing , At the pace he is on he will have had a better first season at the helm then Joey B.

In 2018, JB was throwing just above 50%, why? He was hitting receivers in the hands and damn near putting it on the WRs face mask but they couldn’t catch a cold. His accuracy was evident from day one. Anyone calling for JB to be pulled are the same ones thinking a power I formation is 2 full backs and HB.

Do not understand the comparison at all. One could see from the beginning that Burrow could decipher a defense. Daniels struggles with this. His timing and accuracy are not nearly so good as 2018 Burrow, but other than that you are spot on…

Your contention that Burrows first season was not good blows your entire argument out of the water. Learn context.

Anyone who actually watched the games in ‘18 saw how many times he threw perfectly placed balls that were dropped by receivers not named Jefferson.

that's not true. No sane people said that.

Quit equating random nutjobs to "the board"

I am so tired of hearing this. I remember loving Burrow day one just for making audibles. He was so smart. Then his stats improved to finish the season. I was always excited about him and I remember this place feeling the same.

There was an SI writer who had Burrow as a heisman candidate heading into 2019z

And we were very much pleased with Burrow. I don’t agree with people saying how others wanted him replaced around here. I do not remember any type of talk like that. I enjoyed 2018.

I think people see random idiots post something stupid like that, get downvoted into Oblivion, and they think that's a common opinion on the board.

I don't remember ever hearing that

You do realize how completely moronic you are for even putting them in the same sentence, right?

JD is a great runner/scrambler. He doesn't have the ability to quickly progress reads and release the ball accurately down the field..
This isn't his first year trying, it's his 4th.
The only difference between JB Jr and Sr year, is Brady realized he could run the most complicated offense and JB could handle. JB ALWAYS had the play/coverages computed in his head PRE snap.
JD will NEVER EVER EVER have that DNA

First off, nobody wanted burrow gone in 2018 lol.

Second - in 2018, Burrow was running an offense from 1992 and his WRs dropped a higher % of his throws than basically any other group in the country. The following year, the offensive scheme evolved by a quarter century and he had the greatest collection of offensive skill talent ever assembled.

There just isn't room for this offense to evolve on the order of magnitude of 2018 to 2019 LSU. Joe improved, sure, but the biggest change by far was the situation around him. If he'd have had his 2019 scheme in 2018, he'd have been a star then, too.

We are already running a perfectly good offense this year.

This didn’t happen at all. Most thought he was pretty good.

I completely agree. Regardless of what any fan might have thought of Joe during the season, I guarantee that changed after the Fiesta bowl against UCF.

After Burrow got blown with a cheap shot, he got up, shook it off, got PISSED off and came back to beat UCF.

And, as a result the legend of BDJ was born. After THAT game I don't think any Tiger fans wanted him gone - they wanted to see him come back the next year and mudhole everyone he played - which he (and the rest of the stars on that team) proceeded to do.

Who is complaining and saying that Daniels isn't good enough on 10/27/22? Nobody.

He won't be 2019 Joe Burrow, but he will probably be a thinner version of Cam Newton because this guy is a smoother, more fluid runner than Cam and throws an equal or better ball than Cam. That's great company, and he will go down as a very memorable SEC QB when his time is done.

Yea, people forget that 2018 Joey B was the best QB we’d seen at LSU in more than a decade.

Nobody wanted Joe Burrow gone by the end of his season are you stupid? The reality was he already matured before his senior year when he threw for like 15 TDs his last 3 games or something ridiculous like that.

National media didn't catch on about it but LSU fans did. I'm pretty sure only one outlet recognized his bonkers performances at the end of his junior year and picked him as a darkhorse heisman which they were right.

Joey B transferred at the end of May and only had two months to meet, learn a new playbook, and practice with new teammates/coaches. We won 10 games and beat 4 top 10 teams that year while having receivers who couldn’t catch a ball.. Below average for WHO?

Hint: Your stats will improve greatly when you actually throw the ball to the wide open receivers.
