He struggled some but he’ll grow as a player in the off season

He needs work on off speed. 0-8 with 7Ks so far in Cape

Other side had 20.

Our side had 13 top 5 round picks while theirs had 7.

Burns? I don’t think that’s a given.

I’m really hoping Kling’s bat improves. He’s lights out in the field and fast as hell. Would be great in the leadoff spot.

I know he struggled at the plate in SEC play, but Kling just looks the part.

Or Montgomery. It’s a prediction piece. My prediction is Jay pulls both Montgomery and Burns. If not, I definitely think he will get one more weekend caliber pitcher and will see Frey get a spot in the lineup.

Beloso, Travinski and Milazzo could still sign free agent deals in the next few days
D1 Baseball keeps a running list - some SEC players have already agreed to terms

Riding busses around the minors to podunk towns half the year getting paid $20k prob isn’t either

Once out of rookie league, most minor league locations really aren't "podunk" any longer. That's a bit of a stereotype. Even Low-A ball has teams in nice places up and down the Florida Peninsula. The High A Northwest League plays in Vancouver, Tacoma, Spokane, and Eugene, Oregon. You are correct about the pay though. It's been increased but that has been wiped out by inflation. With the new CBA, the current salaries are $26.2K in Low-A, $27.3K in High A and over $30K in AA. Lot of series are 5 and sometimes six game so not as much time on a bus.

On Off the Bench this morning, TBob said Jay is out on the West Coast right now. Maybe visiting a certain Stanford transfer?

TBob mentioned on his ESPN show today that Jay will be on with them at 9:30 am, and that he was on the west coast recruiting.

He's not on the west coast, he's playing last game against Japan tonight in Charleston SC

General draft question for the people who keep up with it: Of the guys we faced this year, who is player you're most surprised didn't get taken?

Mine is Lebarron Johnson from Texas. He had a great game against us and was really good in the postseason as well. He was second behind Brody Brecht for the hardest thrown breaking ball in college baseball this year. I thought he was going to be a good grab for someone.

His inability to comprehend ANYTHING is fascinating.

It's hard to believe someone is this dumb. So it has to be a troll at this point. In that case, you have to ask yourself what does someone get out of pretending to be a complete moron on an annonymous message board? Very weird stuff. I think I'd rather actually be dumb. There could be legit reasoning for that at least.

I really think that is the answer. He seemed to be pretty good toward the end of the season also. Maybe consistency not there but it was definitely surprising.

Not a guy we faced and he did get drafted late, but I was expecting his teammate Tanner Witt to get the same treatment as Grant Taylor. Thought for sure he would get taken early like Taylor even with his injury. Maybe his number was too high and he stuck to it. Labarron Johnson and Tanner Witt both back at Texas will be really good for them unfortunately. That is if the team that drafted Witt doesn't find the money to pay them.

Just noticed Guidry isn't even on the roster for the BR Roogaroo anymore. Hasn't appeared in many box scores. Any idea what's up with that?

He played in one game, someone mentioned in a thread on here that he quit after that. Not sure what's up with it. If he's not getting game reps, I hope he's in the weight room.

It's still possible we see him show up on another summer league roster somewhere.

ETA: I haven't dug into the box score yet, but DJ Primeaux seemed to do pretty well in his summer debut for the Rougaroo last night.
