also LA just took Oregon St QB if that puts a 20th round picks value in perspective

once upon a time, Michael Vick (yes that Michael Vick) was drafted in the 30th round while in college despite not having played baseball since the 8th grade

Wonder if the Arky board is melting over their late round insurance picks, or if it's just us?

I doubt many, if any, programs have an overly active draft thread like this board

Zach Lee was already in classes at LSU when he signed with the Dodgers in mid-August. He didn't sign until August 16

He did have a cannon tho. I bet he could light up a radar gun with someone helping him get the mechanics down

Couldn't imagine Cam Johnson signing at round 20, I mean if you do not wanna do college, but wanna play at LSU you could literally pick the most BS major that you can breeze through and your playing baseball at LSU you have all the help in the world. I doubt someone would sign just because they do not wanna do school.

August 1st is new deadline, they moved it up from the way it was in the past. I think they did that after Covid

The signing deadline is 5 PM (Eastern) on August 1st or 14 days after the last day of the draft, whichever comes first (July 25th in 2023).

He was enrolled, but never showed up, and that's how he was able to do it.

You are correct that he signed on 8/16, and that was the same day classes started at LSU in 2010. The rule was that once you physically counted as attending a class, then you could not leave for three years.

He practiced with the football team that AM, negotiated with the Dodgers in the afternoon, and then he was an LSU ghost...
