I didn’t say it wasn’t. I was just saying taking a pitcher is a risk mainly for the Pirates who likely will not be in a position to win the World Series in the few years he’d be there. Still, I would take Skenes if I were probably 30 or 31 of the 32 teams. And I may take him if I were all 32. I just think the Pirates are somewhat unique in the fact that they have a loyal fan base that hasn’t sniffed the playoffs in 30 years and may be desperate just to make it. I think Crews is more likely to help them get there while Skenes would be more likely to help them win it. But I’d understand if they go with any of the top 3.
