Adam I thought Gervase said he is coming back to LSU. Is that not correct?

Was really hoping to see Pineda at SS
I'm ok with Thompson at 3B
Carter Young could be an option at SS but he had defensive struggles last year too

LSU has to be better up the middle on defense with C SS and 2B all needing major defensive improvement

You shouldnt feel bad about a senior with no eligibility left having to sign for way under a slot value.

The ideal should be to play 4 years then go pro. There’s too much of a rush, as in many areas of life today. We need to return to an ethic of patience and get out of the rat race.

And if you’re the right age, you can go in as a draft eligible sophomore and add one more option to your list!

Yup, you could spend just 2 years at a D1 school then go as a 21 year old to the draft if you turn 21 early enough.

The options to use leverage in the MLB draft are vast. Yeah it sucks to see a 22-23 year old have to sign for less, but hey, you're old AF at the point in the eyes of the MLB. They probably think the chances of you ever making it to the show are slim to none if you had to wait to have no leverage as a 22-23 year old to start your minors career with 18-21 year olds.

The MLB is never going to do something like that. IT's the whole point of their fleshed out minor league system that no other major pro sport league has. The reason they carry 4-5 minor league teams per pro team is to get as many 18-21 year olds started on their development path. It's not even really meant for 22-23 year olds with a degree from college.

It's a different league than NFL/NBA.

Also, not everyone is really college material. They shouldnt have to be forced to go do something for 4 years because of 'reasons' when there's such a fleshed out minor league development system already in place.

You are in the wrong thread. Go to the OT and start your own. You probably think we need more devotion to God too

eh, not really. His fielding% was around .950. That's about average for an SEC SS, not struggling. He did slightly worse than he did his sophomore season, but I wouldn't say he struggled given the sample size of a college season.

I think it was mentioned in this thread, but Applebey tweeted he's coming.

I think he has a chance to be an impact bullpen piece. He's been throwing well in the West Coast League. Not walking very many guys.

So you’re telling a kid like Lesko that’s coming off an injury out of HS.. that he should go to college for 4 years required and risk another injury?

He was offered a slot of 4+ million, but I guess that’s poison to you?

That’s why I’m advocating drastically culling the farm system. I don’t even like the principle of 18-21 year olds skipping education to start the minors. Two affiliates per team max.

An athlete has a very small window of how long they can play professionally. It's not a normal job and can't be compared to one.

Removing the farm system would ruin college ball and you don’t even realize it.

Your ideas are phenomenally stupid. I mean just real bad.

On par with that one guy that said only people born in the US should be able to play pro baseball here.

Where do you morons come from?
