Obviously I’d love for Cairo to make it to campus but I like what we’ve got potentially at 2b/SS/3b between Hughes/Dugas/Bianco/Willis/Doughty.
I didn't realize Willis played 2b/ss/3b. I see on LSUsports.net that he is listed as 1b/OF/C.

The theory is he might be able to play third next year assuming his shoulder is completely healed up. He's got enough athleticism for it and if he's capable of catching and throwing as a catcher he ought to be quick enough to play the hot corner.
All of that should be true of Torres as well, who's the kid we're not giving enough attention to.

No sense in wasting Paul’s time once he knows he is getting almost a million and leaving.

Today was a great day. I wish Dups got drafted but he will do fine either way!

So people saying Cairo just walked out and left, burned Maneri. Seems a little dickish.
I mean he told them I'm going pro, he didn't leave to take the phone call and never come back.
After telling them his decision, he's supposed to stay?

Per James Moran:
“Christian Cairo was on campus this morning setting up his class schedule this morning.
Got a call from the Indians, told #LSU he was signing and left.
So he’s gone”

@BrodyAMiller
Christian Cairo was sitting with #LSU today and going over his class schedule when he got pulled out of the room with a call.
He came back in the room, told Paul Mainieri it was the Cleveland Indians and that he's going pro.

So we lose commits Espino, Cairo, Hines and maybe Lewis. Not bad especially keeping Hampton, Phillips, Doughty, Travinski, Torres and the rest

Was the deadline for scheduling classes today?
If not it seems as if he could have waited a few days

maybe Lewis.

Why delay the inevitable? The Indians gave him the money he wanted. No sense in waiting when the decision has been made

James Moran Twitter
More on Cairo; The Indians offered him $955K, which is double the slot value for where he was picked, but considerably less than the number he gave #LSU during the process
We know why #LSU was so confident about Cade Doughty coming to campus.
He told Paul Mainieri and Nolan Cain on Sunday that he was pricing himself out.
He’s on his way to play in a college summer league
Paul says catcher signed Hayden Travinski has already turned down a lot of money in this draft, but #LSU is still sweating out him and RHP Connor Phillips
#LSU feels good about Saul Garza coming back unless a team “blows him away” with an offer

Maybe not as good a class as last year but a Very solid class.

I meant why make LSU go through all the BS to enroll him but
based on the James Moran tweet I posted it looks as if he wasn’t expecting to get what they actually offered, makes more sense now
