My guess is that slaughter stays. His slot value won't be any worse next year and could get a whole lot higher if he turns the corner

Slaughter is probably up in the air. On one hand he could be a top 5 round pick if he puts it all together. On the other he has struggled to do so his first two years and had a chance to get decent money. I wouldn’t be shocked either way. Hoping he comes back though.

We need Hess, Watson and Duplantis back next year. The rest really don’t matter!

Cam Sanders is going to transfer if he doesn’t sign?

Great job (as usual) Adam4848!!!
Thanks!!!
We’re looking good for next year, need some healing and a Hitting Coach and it’ll be time for another run!!!

Elite stuff= 5.59 era, 38 innings, 24 walks and only 18 appearances. Got it. While maybe processed was the wrong word, he probably would have transferred because he wouldn’t have seen a lot of time on the bump. He had a couple bright spots but didn’t do a lot when we had mediocre pitching. I’m not sure why people can’t just say “hey I disagree because of this” instead they have to call people out and say stuff that would get there arse beat if they talked to someone like that in person.

Thanks Adam!
I would like to see Slaughter back. If all the guys on that list he has the most to gain from a return. If the cubs can save enough on other signees, he'd get maybe a couple hundred thousand. He is a first day talent though so if he returns and puts together numbers to match his potential, he could be a millionaire this time next year

He's a draft eligible sophomores though. He can come back next year and at the worst get the sames slot value that he got this year.
Except he has the potential to get in the top 5 rounds and make a boat ton more money

I don’t mean this in a bad way, but I’d be OK with Slaughter going to the draft. Maybe his game will click in the minors.

At one point he was benched for Reid last year, and when Smith came back for a game they played him at 3rd instead of short. If he returns, he will have to fight for playing time, so that could be a reason to take the money now

If he hits like he dad late in the season he won't have any problems finding playing time

That’s true, but if he doesn’t hit like the end of the season? That’s my point

Those numbers don't tell the whole story on Sanders. His stuff was great, and it was from pitch one of the season. His problem was throwing strikes. When he did he was almost unhittable because his stuff was that good. When he didn't, you get those numbers because of walks.

Which is why I think he should sign. Now I'm not saying I want him to, but for what's best for him, I think signing is the right call. We also have to find spots on the roster for all these newcomers and players who are returning.
