Any connection to Joe Brady is fine with me.

This.

There is a reason he was chosen

Not sure why you’re asking me. I’ve already said I don’t hate the hire so what’s the problem? Just not sure how to feel about it but it’s not like I hate the hire.

I guess we’ll see how it goes. Praying he does well.

Love this hire

Coached Derek Carr his Pro Bowl seasons, was about to be the OC in Indy under McDaniels before McDaniels switched up. He was also blocked from interviewing with Washington/Ron Rivera

Obviously a well-thought-of young up-and-comer

Seems a little odd for a former DB to end up a RB/QB coach and then an OC... but hey I guess if it works, it works.

Fans wanted young, innovative, energetic coordinators.

We just hired Peetz (OC) and Mangas (PGC) - two young guys to run the entire offense, both of which have coached with Joe Brady and know how to run that scheme.

I'd say, on paper, these are solid hires.

I think this has the potential to be a good hire. let's see how he does in his first opportunity calling plays.

No idea how to feel about this one. Quick search tells me he was position coach for some of Derek Carr’s good years and CMC’s best, so that’s good. Also Teddy’s less than impressive year but he’s average at best anyway.

Best thing to me, he’s 37 and hungry. That was key in these hires imo. Also coached under Joe Brady

To be fair he wasn’t the OC. Making someone OC with no play calling experience is a big jump

Seemed like it was a foregone conclusion yesterday.

That said, I'm very interested to see the contract. Even though it is a lower level of football, this is a big promotion for him. Still, he probably didn't have a ton of negotiating leverage. Did LSU give him the Brady "prove it" salary? Or did Woodward just stroke a blank check for a guy with an unclear market demand?

Freeman has significant market demand. So my guess (hope) is that LSU is going to go with young, less expensive coaches on the offensive end (like they did with Brady in 2019) in order to allocate the bulk of the (somewhat limited) funds to get a higher priced DC (such as Freeman)

Also pretty weird that Carolina OC Joe Brady is a former linebacker coach
