I have friends and relatives that have connections to the former USL and don't recall any of them pushing this University of Louisiana nonsense. Personally, I don't care since the rest of the world obviously knows "LSU" as the state of Louisiana's flagship university. The idea that ESPN or whomever is slowly coming around just sounds rather pathetic since they only have to worry about it every other year or so for a week or two.

As others have said, I actually like the whole Ragin' Cajun thing, fleur de lis, etc. and typically pull for ULL whenever they are not playing LSU. I hated to see the softball team leave the post season the way they did, with their opponent refusing to swing the bat. I'm not sure what, other than envy, would cause the numbers of ULL fans to have so much animosity towards LSU. Have that many ULL fans actually had such a negative personal experience with LSU or it's fans?
