I don't know what all of you are talking about saying the PA was too loud. I sit in 101 (west side, nearer to south EZ), and we couldn't hear it at all. It was a running joke in our section about how much money was spent on a clock radio for the stadium. Never heard Dan Borne until the 4th Qtr once there was nobody left in the stands
Really? Were you there when they played music? Do you use your hands to talk?

Apparently the ad problem is just for this year because they sold so many sponsors scoreboard ads so they all have to be there... Theoretically we should see more video space next year with the three scoreboards. But I'll believe that when I see it
I've been hearing this ever since we got the big HD video screen and every year it's the same thing. 50% of a big HD video board used for static unchanging ads. Such a stupid waste of technology. It's pathetic. As is anyone who defends this.

1. I had to empty my pockets entering the escalator to the east upper deck. Never had to do that before. The security guy made a woman remove her baseball cap to check under it. We were like,
??? It also slowed the entrance process considerably.
2. Too little ice in my drink - it was melted within 5 minutes.
3. The birds were buzzing us during the game. Too many bugs flying around when it got dark. LSU must do something about the insects flying around and the birds that do fly-bys to those of us sitting in the upper decks.
Good stuff:
1. Stadium looks better than ever.
2. Security applauded when they made two dudes remove t-shirts that said Baton "F#$%$#" Rouge on the front (a lot of families with small kids sitting in our area).
3. PA system was fine except at the beginning of the game when Borne's voice was too low. Apparently they made an adjustment.
4. I liked the stats summaries shown on the big video board throughout the game.
Fans: We all profess to be LSU fans but fail to realize that abandoning the players (who work so hard through the year) at halftime in such large numbers shows a lack of respect for their commitment to and hard work for LSU. Just a thought.

We were in 103 and it was way loud. But Borne's voice was not loud enough.
System needs tweaking. An obviously having the SEZ speakers/board out of commission doesn't help.

Maybe the problem is there's only one set of speakers, so they have to blast it at max volume to reach the whole stadium. I can tell you that in the NEZ, the sound system is unbearably loud, especially the music.

The Upper South Men's Bathroom sauna(East Side) still reeks but it has been much worse.
That place is ripe before the game... imagine how polluted it is by the end of halftime in 90 degree weather.

Girl at the concessions added my stuff with a calculator. It was $4.50 and $5. Now I don't need calculator for that but I waited patiently. I gave her a $10. She had to use it again to get 10-9.50.

"Welcome to Death Valley" is too small....can't be heightened, but it needs to be lengthened.

What is the deal with the construction on the south side...
Seriously, they' could not have had a 10' walkway past the jet from south stadium drive to the east gates?
Multi-million dollar addition and they can write into the contract a simple pathway. That's ridiculous.
ETA: How hard is this?

Yeah... I mentioned it in the Kirby Smith parking thread. Forethought is not or really never has been a strength in this athletic administration.
Its also bad when we have big games and all the visiting buses are lined up at the East side and the mass of people exiting can't move.
One incident of panic and you will have people get trampled to death.

I think an effort is being made to over blast the shittty canned music. Most of it was crap and too loud, in a "lets over-hype this bitch" kind of way... In other words, they are trying to make Tiger Stadium like every other venue in America

The music is what it is.
At one point I heard piped in crowd noise. Boo

How about the commentators on TV mispronouncing player names, and saying, at first that Hill was on parole, then changing it to probation.

Posted on 9/8/13 at 9:29 am to LSUGrad9295
Enough with GD selfies! Teenage girl next to me taking selfies throughout the entire game with phone sticking about 3 inches from my face when i would look towards the field in that direction. That's why I usually sell my tickets for these types of games.
You generally don't get "that crowd" for the SEC games.
The music was too loud and Borne wasn't loud enough. There was one song that started off with a sax that gave me permanent hearing loss I think. It sounds better, but good lord realize these aren't the old speakers that have to be cranked to make up for quality.

Send an email to LSU about it. Apparently last year enough people complained about the canned music that Alleva addressed it and LSU toned it down. The GBFTL is one of our best-loved traditions.

I miss the old bathroom where you had multiple entry/exit points and 100 guys could stand around pissing into a trough at floor level. Now you have a hundred guys squeezing through one 3-foot wide opening to get to a few individual urinals.
I sit in the south upper end zone and thought the sound was too loud. Obviously the sound is overly directional if people in the lower and upper levels couldn't hear it. Bad sound engineering.

I'm sure the engineering is fine. It's the tool operating it that is the problem.

Actually, I got pumped right before the opening kickoff when they dropped the Coke and whatever ad is on the opposite side and showed about 50% more video. It was awesome! Then play started and they not only added it back, but there were a few times during TOs that they added a McDonalds ad in the middle so that the entire board was ads. Then I see the video boards from other games on TV and nobody else seems to do this. It looks bush league and tacky. Ads around the board are fine, but taking up the majority of it is a joke.

Hey, wanna effect a change here? Send an e-mail/letter to offending advertiser and tell them you're boycotting their product/business because their tacky ads are taking up too much space on the scoreboard. Also contact the LSUAD and tell them the same thing. Money is the only thing that talks. If they hear from enough people, they will listen, but you HAVE to contact them. Complaining about it on here wont have much effect.
