Exactly. Is it a hard living? Sure. Do you get paid shite? Absolutely.

Is it some impossible feat to live on a moderate signing bonus and a small salary? No it isnt.

It's worth it to keep the dream alive for most of those guys. The ones that don't think it's worth it retire. And that's fine too, no shame in it.

But the reality is thousands of people live on that same type of income until they die and they don't have the luxury of getting a 10k start

They also do get a small per diem for road games and I think the longer in the contract in the minors the more they get paid. Still not a lot but I think somewhere around $2300/month 5/yrs into a contract which is very live able

As of now it looks like they have about 3.5 for Turang

Judging by what I’m looking at, it’s going to come down to the Gray signing. If he gets 1.5, looks like the most Brewers would be able to offer is 3.5. In my opinion, that’s probably enough to sign Turang.

Yep. I know it was always a long-shot, but it's not looking good to day the least.

I bet they end up being able to offer him north of 3.5, I think we can kiss Brice Turang goodbye.

Never played but worked for AA team. Long bus trips on a bus that broke down regularly. Room with someone to afford to eat. Not a glorious life for the everyday type signee! Even the women give up when they see the money!

Yea I’d put it at a 10% chance at this point. If Gray signs for slot, dream is over.

They can go 300k over the pool before getting any serious penalty. I think they just have to pay a huge tax if they do that. They can basically offer close to 3.5 before anyone goes underslot. If his number is really 4.5 M and he’s firm with it, we are good. If not, it was nice knowing him

I find it hard to believe that he won't take somewhere around 3.8M. It's looking like they can get around there. But God I hope his number is a hard 4.5. I just don't see them getting that much

First post ever on TD. Just wanted to get that off my chest. I’ve been following this thread for a while. Thanks for the research kids.
