They play in one of the best conferences and certainly best division in college football and beat a 9-3 BCS school on the road. Other than Ok State, which 1-loss team do you think played a tougher schedule?

My question was more about the .955 ranking they have as opposed to the 840"s of the other teams. Penn State is the only notable in OOC for them.

They are almost unanimous #2s in the two human polls which count for 2/3 of the BCS

Thanks matt. That is what I thought but wanted to make sure. If the polls were taken out, how would that put them? Would they be behind some other folks or still no 2?

For sake of comparison, based on Sagarin's ratings, which TIFWIW, Bama's OOC schedule was PSU (#27), Ga Southern (#79), Kent State (#117) and North Texas (#119).

OSU's OOC schedule was Tulsa (#28), Arizona (#70), and La-Lafayette (#78).

Stanford's OOC schedule was Notre Dame (#30), San Jose State (#99) and Duke (#114).

VT's OOC schedule was Arkansas State (#48), Marshall (#63), East Carolina (#93) and Appalachan State (#106).

Drop North Texas off Bama's schedule and Appalachain State off VT's and there's not a significant difference between any of the OOCs IMHO.

Why should those games be dropped? They were played.

The option is there if the voters feel so inclined. And it's a legitimate argument, too. This might get real interesting if OSU can hold up their end of the bargain.

Matt-

Tell me if my math is wrong, but based on tonight's human polls, 9 of 174 human voters put Bama at #3 and someone else #2, correct? And for Bama to be in real trouble, about 35 more need to follow suit and vote Bama at #3, assuming OSU is #2 in all 44 of those ballots correct?

Honestly, Stanford.

I would rather go through LSU(home), Arkansas(home), and Penn State than I would USC, Oregon(home), and Notre Dame(home).

Stanford's computer scores are hurt by the lack of depth in the Pac 10 as well as USC being a shell of the team that they are now when they lost to Arizona St early in the season.

Is it that far-fetched to think that some voters could possibly drop Alabama down to #4 if OSU and Va Tech win their conferences?

1) LSU
2) Oklahoma State
3) Virginia Tech
4) Alabama

They could possibly reward those two teams for winning their conferences.

in your opinion do you think the human voters that are against a rematch are waiting to see what happens this up coming weekend to change their vote.

Probably true. But OSU played 9 conference games in what was the statistically toughest conference this year

They should do this but won't because they are all spineless and took the money under the table. Don't forget bama is the expert on cheating.

If the voters want to see the two best teams play, they will vote Bama #2. If they want to see another team get a shot at LSU, they will vote OSU #2.

Bama is the second best team, IMO.

Not farfetched at all. And, if someone wanted to ensure that Bama didn't get in, they could even vote Stanford, Boise State, and Houston ahead of Bama.

If LSU loses the sec championship does that help or hurt Bama, especially of ok st wins and vt loses?

The key is that it is all opinion and nobody really knows absolutely. As long as it doesn't appear to be a fluke, if OSU wins, I think the voters will make it close enough for them. If they lose, rematch on.

2 things need to happen for Okie State this week. #1 blow out Oklahoma. #2 the idea that their only loss came the day after the Women's basketball coach died and it affected them. That idea was being pushed on mike and Mike this morning.

I don't think the coaches would ever do this because the final ballot is made public and they would have to answer for dropping Alabama that low. If Oklahoma State wins convincingly, I can see the coaches dropping Alabama to #3 with a clear conscious but that's about it.
