If we win out, we will be in the top 3 of 5 outta 6 computers. We're in the top 5 of all but Massey now(and its 8th which makes it an outlier).

We will get a nice bump for a top 12 Arky team

I think Auburn will be closer to Oregon than that and may pass them this week. They closed the gap in the human polls.

LSU probably finishes above everyone in the computers but AU...but that won't be enough to pass TCU in the BCS

A couple thought on this thread from me. FWIW...

I would be SHOCKED if the Rose Bowl did not take an eligible Pac-10 team to backfill for Oregon. All of their history says that they value Pac-10/Big-10 above all else.

I don't know that the Orange will volunteer to take the Big East champ (Pitt or whomever) because they get to pick ahead of Fiesta. Perhaps they would take Boise if the Sugar takes Ohio State?

Personally, as an LSU fan and a fan of college football, I would prefer to see LSU vs. Boise State in the Sugar Bowl. But I have heard that the Sugar wants no part of a non-AQ team this year...

What?

LSU was at .817 last week, how the hell do you have them losing .03 points when they got more votes in both polls?

TCU was .926. All there top opponents lost and they dropped in the polls, they will drop more than .004

We lost points with UNC losing to Va Tech, and UF losing to S.Car. Plus ULM brings down our SOS.

They are forced, by comtract, to take the highest ranked non-AQ if they lose one of their representives to the BCSNCG. If Oregon goes, then TCU/BSU replaces them.

Doesn't matter we got 20 more votes in both polls than we did last week.

TCU had Baylor, Utah, and Oregon State lose. As well as losing 20+ votes in the coaches and 30+ in the Harris.

True, unless TCU/Boise is in the title game. Then, they'd be free to take whoever they want.

BCS Bowl Projections:

1. NC game: AU versus Oregon
2. Sugar: LSU* versus Ohio State
3. Rose: Wisconsin versus TCU
4. Orange: Va Tech versus Pitt
5. Fiesta: Nebraska versus Boise

Matt, I think the Orange would take either Stanford or a second Big Twelve team (Oklahoma State or Mizzou. Also Nebraska if they lose in the CCG) before Pitt. That would send Pitt to the Fiesta and knock Boise out.

I have gone from hoping AU losses two, to hoping they win out. I have a feeling they will drop one, and create a situation where LSU gets left out of a BCS bowl game. It would be so nice to see LSU in a BCS game this year.

I dont know much about the computer polls but if an #10 TCU on the computer polls pull them down even if Harris and Coaches are voting them as #3?

I was responding the case with a TCU-Oregon in BCSCG... In this case Rose is off the hook for an non-AQ.

Point is this: If the Rose is free of encumbrances, they will pick a Big-10/Pac-10 matchup above all else.

There is no way in hell SC goes to the Sugar even if beating AU in the SEC champ game. LSU or AU will get the spot depending on that outcome. AU will go if they lose to Bama and beat SC, or beat Bama and lose to SC. LSU will go if AU runs the table, and LSU will go if Bama beats AU and SC loses to AU. It is to far out to even consider LSU not being in a BCS bowl, due to the fact that Houston Nut has our number, and we go to Arky. Just my opinion. Cotton Bowl against Ok St. - Hell no.

Matt,

Outstanding analysis as usual. However, I disagree that LSU has a great chance of making a BCS game with two losses if they lose to Arkansas. If Arkansas wins out, I feel they have they would be a more attractive option for the Sugar Bowl. This would also hinge upon Bama losing to Auburn.

South Carolina would automatically go to the Sugar if they beat AU in the SECCG. The Sugar is required to take the SEC Champ if they aren't going to the BCSCG.

Huh? If SC beats AU, they are guaranteed a spot in the Sugar Bowl.

If Auburn loses to Alabama we go to the BCSNG even if they beat South Carolina. You heard it here first.

Wish I had your optimism. Do you see most things that way?
