What a stupid and boring matchup. This sucks. Group of 5 teams should be relegated to a lower tier league where they belong. Power 5 teams should only have to play other Power 5 teams. Both in regular and postseason play. There is nothing attractive or fun about playing any team from a non-power 5. I hate this committee.

This is one of those pairings where BOTH teams are disappointed to be playing the other.
UCF thinks it belongs in the playoffs. So, at least if they played UF, they could have made it about state pride. But, they get nothing out of playing LSU and, LSU gets nothing out of playing them.
I like that LSU is in the Fiesta, but talk about fricking up the pairings!

Might be true, but playing in Fiesta Bowl will mark LSU's 50th all-time bowl appearance, its first ever west of Texas.
Tigers' fans should be excited about it.
