Miss St does have a more favorable schedule, drawing Florida and Kentucky out of the SEC East while we have UGA and Florida.
Another reason they are ahead of LSU, aside from the 18 starters, is a proven QB returning.. jeez Fitzgerald made us look incompetent last year.

I still think Fitz is one of the best QBs in the SEC. Based on his entire career and athletic ability, not just what he did to us.

That doesn’t make him a good QB. He has accuracy issues.
I, like most other logical LSU fans have also been pointing out since that loss last year that there was absolutely no excuse for them beating us like that EXCEPT that we were not COACHED properly.
Once you accept that as fact (and it is) you will realize that Mississippi State was not that good of a team last year. They looked like shite against every good team they played against last year.

Wrong. If you have talent and you still can’t win, you need to figure out why you are not winning. This team was simply not prepared to play against MS State or Troy last year. That’s 100% on the coaches.

Maybe. But only because there are not many good QBs in the SEC. he will have to greatly improve his passing abilities if he ever wants a meaningful career in the NFL.

Now Fitzgerald did have a total of 984 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns to go along with the nearly 1800 passing and 15 passing touchdowns. Dude averaged 6+ yards rushing.
You pick 1 stat and make it seem like he is a dog.
