I’m sure it will boil down to two things. 1st where he is picked in the draft, 2nd who the new Coach is.

Every guy with eligibility should hear out the new coach before making the decision. Which is why they better get him hired quickly because I want him in their ears before they get drafted.

Hell if I we’re Woodward I might even ask his opinion along with Hill, Labas, and Dugas.

Will lose at least $700k coming back. Seniors have no leverage.

I disagree on the zero percent chance deal. Agree it’s very low, I think it’s in the 10% range.

Landon already passed up money to come here. Not much a new coach could really convince him of from a money perspective. His stock won't get much higher, and his leverage is trending down. Maybe Landon came here to win a natty and he's going to exhaust all opportunities to do that. He and his family agreed to throw twice in one weekend then come back on short rest in the post season, so maybe that's really important for them before going the money/leverage route. I consider him gone, though.

It’s like 10% less than 10%, but I’ll play. Why do you think there’s any chance he comes back?

That’s what the coach has to sell

I honestly think his road to the big leagues is shorter overall if he stays in college one more year. Just my opinion. Agree it will come down to money/leverage, etc. in the end. Ultimately I think it’s an interesting discussion also.

And for what’s it’s worth, the dude was one Hell of a LSU Tiger!

That’s stupid. If Marceaux feels, as I do, that he’s ready for the pros, there is nothing a new coach could say that would sway him.

OMG, I just read the rest of your post suggesting we should ask 20 year old kids who they think we should hire.

There have been rumors to the effect he's considering it depending on who comes here.

But the thing is, that's all talk.

The last ranking I saw of him he was something like #79, which would put him late 2nd or early 3rd round. It's highly doubtful he's going to turn down that money unless he gets catastrophically lowballed.

You need to operate on the expectation that Marceaux, Hill (obviously), Labas, Hilliard, Beck, Vietmeier and George are all gone, and that James Hasty will be the oldest pitcher left on the staff.

But if there's good news, it sounds A LITTLE like the signees, not Kudma but Lansville, Selvidge, Fontenot and Taylor, could all get here. If so, they'll have a really young staff but it'll have some very, VERY live arms on it. So if your next hire is a coach who can do high-level pitching development you might end up having a deep staff full of good young killers even if people will need a program to know who's who at the beginning of the year.

Plus there's this Gervase kid coming in out of JUCO. He's like 6-9 and his numbers this year were absolutely ridiculous. He might end up being a unit out of the bullpen.
