House is supposed to be the LB coach and our LBs are always out of position and missing tackles.
this is the real dirty here, the DC isnt even doing a good job teaching his specific position unit

Speaking of Hilton, did I see him being carried off the field? I think he may have hurt a knee landing after that last throw.
yes, he landed awkwardly
the OM DB was hurt too

compare that to Aranda and LBs

we missed Greg Brooks badly tonight

Ali Gaye and Ojulari were 3 year starters on the edge.It helped cover up some deficiencies in the defensive backfield that were around last year as well

The d line was horrible vs the run tonight.

Aside from coaching issues, the lack of defensive team speed and tackling problems are evident. I don’t understand tolerance for any guy that doesn’t tackle with proper technique.

In man coverage are we struggling the same for both press and off man coverage?

Players aren’t good enough. Years of sub par recruiting on the defensive side the ball, particularly secondary players has caught up. Portal guys are dudes who couldn’t cut it for their previous teams.

great point plus Foucha and Brooks were big pickups in thd portal
last year was pretty good until TAMU and UGA and we were playing 3rd and 4th DL because of injuries

i think all of that is true, but Weeks is much more of a net positive than negative.
Possible improvements:
DE: Womack NT: Jefferson DT. Wingo Jack: Swinson
Swinson and Womack are upgrades on Jones and Ovie.
options 2
DE: Maason Smith NT: Jefferson DT: Wingo Jack: Perkins.
Bigger DL makes up for smaller Jack.
give perkins a position, lets us run Nickel and not have to drop Perkins into coverage. essential like a 3-3 over I guess.
Weeks is just a better Lb than Speights. that’s settled. please don’t go back.
Put Welch out there. play more
man.

duce chestnutt is a perfect example, syracuse transfer portal guy
he is good enough to run the system and be in proper position but not good enough to make a play in man and he gets torched so he gets targeted
he didnt play at all tonight
everyone at CB and S has ability and glaring weaknesses, it is a mishmash of shite and there is no one base scheme that seems to fit the best four, nickel and dime units
one of the OM passing TDs everyone was in zone except alexander who was mysteriouly in straight man and left his primary empty
run fits by burns were atrocious and he lead the team in tackles tonight because the DL and LBs were non-existent in the middle of the field

agree on weeks, positives far outweigh negatives
all of your personnel suggestions will happen, they have to happen
kelly will play everyone, we have seen that, he doesnt have a choice

My dog could have looked masterful against LSU's D tonight

is your dog going to be in the transfer portal next season?

Did you mention bad tackling? You need to include bad tackling
Atrocious pussy attempts at tackles. It looked like little kids who don't want to play football when it came to tackling tonight. They would just barely make contact with the ball carrier just to make it look like they were trying.
