If he does comes back LSU and Gilbert needs to come clean on what all went on. If the kid does have mental health issues he needs to stand up and admit it publicly, not just for himself but for future players. There needs to be protocols for dealing with mental health issues in players. We've had several come through over the years and none turned out to well for the player.

Grades.

He’s coming back to LSU because it’s his best chance at playing, in the quickest way.

Honestly I have no control over it so I’m rooting for him to get his shite straight. Kid is too talented to ignore and have to face for the next 3 years.

Yes! At minimum, he owes a public explanation to you.

So if 2020 doesn't count against eligibility, I'm guessing the next time he'll be eligible to play is in 2022 as a redshirt "freshman".

Really? I'd love to know who we have who could match up with him physically.

Let's say he played for Alabama and did the same thing. Do you think anyone on this board would fault Saban/UA for allowing him to come back? Personal feelings aside, it would be silly to let him go if he wants to come back. He's a weapon. Especially in this offense.

LoL!! This is LSU dude. WTF is wrong with you? Last year was the worst team LSU fielded in the past twenty years. What am I missing?

I can't believe so many fans are upset with Gilbert, who has done nothing to embarrass LSU. Yet we have had criminals whose character was known throughout their careers, by many fans, that were ignored, until their misdeeds became known to the public.
There were fans, after Cecil the Diesel, was exposed, who still wanted him on the team
Guice was the latest.

If he was a 1 star I would feel the same, he was a baller and I want him back...if the team does.

It was the worst defense that LSU fielded in the past 20 years. The offense was fine for most the season, especially considering freshmen started most of it.

Also, "This is LSU", but I wouldn't say LSU has a great history of tight ends. The top 2 TE's on the roster this spring are Kole Taylor who's probably a 4 year player in the mold of Foster Moreau, and a former pitcher turned TE in Nick Storz.

Jack Bech is coming in, and should serve the same kind of role that Gilbert would have. But your going from someone with tight end size that can play receiver, to someone who has wide receiver size that can play tight end.

Were they? the only tweets i saw from our DBs were McGlothern recruiting him back to the team.

Could you post one of the tweets you were referring to? (not even trying to argue--i missed this and am interested)

Dude SERIOUSLY. It's crazy how many people have treated this situation as though Gilbert was some sort of mass murderer or punched out a coach on the sideline during a game or something crazy. Not to mention all the baseless speculation that people at some point started repeating as though it were fact.

Literally all we know is that this is a really talented kid who had a rough go of it mentally in his first year away from home. That's not the slightest bit unusual for a college freshman. You know how many of my friends failed a bunch of classes their first semester or transferred closer to home after a semester? And people are gonna act like Gilbert has personally wronged them?

The discourse surrounding AG has been a bit better of late but my god...for a while there it was just absolutely fricking vile.
