Inject it into my veins. My body is ready. I want the hype. I want the excitement. Give it to me!

Well Joe ended up @ LSU cause he never won the job @ OSU, so there's that.

doesn't matter what the rest of quote is because fans hear Burrow and that's it.

Calling Joe Burrow “the smartest man in the room” also sounds a bit pathetic when the room is full of all the Off coaches.
Why? Joe was 22-23 years old when he was here. Why would it be pathetic to say he’s the smartest man in the room? He wasn’t a little kid.

Because he was surrounded by older grown-arse men paid a lot of money to be Off masterminds.

If max was so much Joe, we wouldn’t have had any sort of QB battle.
Maybe he meant 2018 Joe.

I have no issue with saying player X has some traits of player Y, but I get what folks are saying. The goal needs to be to build a contender again, not recreate 2019. If that's the blueprint then fine, but the comparisons do seem more hyperbole than reality.

It’s called expectations and everyone who is a leader knows that means. 2019 is and will be the high water mark for every college football team ever. If you’re not striving towards that, you’re not doing it right.

He needs to quit comparing everything to 2019

Did anyone actually read what he said?
He said he’s comparable to work ethic and attitude. Said absolutely nothing about comparing Max’s ability to Joe’s.
I knew as soon as I read that there would be a ton of people here whining and complaining about this. I don’t see anything about winning a Heisman or being the #1 draft pick anywhere.
Leave it to the Rant to ALWAYS make something out of nothing. Get over it.

He’s a competitor. He’s serious. He reminds me of Joe in a lot of ways. The intangibles, the things he does, the work ethic, he wants to be number one. He doesn’t say much. There’s not a lot of joking around with him. He’s always doing well in the classroom, always competing in the weight room, always competing to be first, he’s always studying. He’s a football guy, from a football family. He’s very competitive and wants to be great. I’ve seen that from him and he doesn’t have to tell me about that, I’ve seen it. He has the intangibles, I thought he had a very good day today. He’s tall, he’s smart, can see a lot of things.

He wasn’t comparing Max to Joe. He was saying the way he prepares and his mindset reminds him of how Joe was. Both Max and Joe are coaches sons’. I honestly think Max was beating out Myles before his injury, but we needed the depth. I think now knowing Max has the reigns at the position you can develop more specific plays for him and not spend extra time trying to develop different plays for different types of QBs, because Nuss is very similar to Max

Did you hear the whole quote?
He did not say he is like Joe in production on the field, but intangibles, hard working, loves football, comes in and does his job in the film room, weight room, etc. He said nothing of Heisman production numbers of 5,400 yards, 60 TD's, etc.
You wussies need to relax. Him saying that has nothing to do with what Max does or does not do for LSU
Now, if that would be me, I would say Max is doing well and picking up the offense. He works hard, studies film, and works hard in the weight room.

Apparently not. I suppose its attention span deficiency.

I love O and what he's done at LSU, but he needs to calm down when making comparisons of current players. Saying Max reminds him of Burrow in a lot of ways only sets the player up for failure. Just let Max pave his own way instead of getting fans pumped up that we have another Burrow on the team. During the offseason last year, O pumped up the defense that I thought we were going to have one of the best defenses in the country and Pelini was going to take our D to the next level, but it didn't quite turn out that way. Love you O, but you may need to pump the brakes a little bit on the comparisons!
I mean if my boss told me I reminded him of the best employee he’s ever had, I’d feel pretty good about myself and strive to prove him right. Then again I’m not a millennial.
