O needs to slow down on the hype/comparisons

I love O and what he's done at LSU, but he needs to calm down when making comparisons of current players. Saying Max reminds him of Burrow in a lot of ways only sets the player up for failure. Just let Max pave his own way instead of getting fans pumped up that we have another Burrow on the team. During the offseason last year, O pumped up the defense that I thought we were going to have one of the best defenses in the country and Pelini was going to take our D to the next level, but it didn't quite turn out that way. Love you O, but you may need to pump the brakes a little bit on the comparisons!

It doesn't matter what the rest of quote is because fans hear Burrow and that's it. For O to remotely even compare Max to Burrow is ridiculous and puts undue pressure on Max.

When he compared Max to Joe, it had nothing to do with skill. He was comparing their mind set, focus, and how they prepare. Joe stayed in the football building, and it sounds like the same for Max. It's encouraging if anything.

Calling Joe Burrow “the smartest man in the room” also sounds a bit pathetic when the room is full of all the Off coaches.
