it sickens me to see GoodOleLess & Alabama mentioned in the same sentence. Wonder how his assembled "team" is feeling about now.

Ill never like him, what ever success we have is because of the ingenuity of Dave Aranda on Defense and just pure fricking luck on offense.. Oregeron has nothing to do with it.. hes a puppet and a 3.5 million dollar waste of money.. I would have paid aranda 3.6 million a year just to have ESPN run a story about how our DC makes more than the Head coach... first time in history...guys got an ego bigger than the planet and doesnt have the brain power to back it up... cant stand those guys...

A natty seriously. There is zero reason LSU shouldn’t consistently be in the hunt 1/2 the time or more.

It’s not just O, Alleva is as much to blame if not more.

Must win the West? Must win SEC? Must go to playoffs?

Is there any wonder why LSU cannot get a top tier coach? The expectations are unattainable.

1/2 empty stadium and expecting national championships every year. Our fan base is so delusional.

I don’t hate O or want him to fail, I want LSU to win every game. I am not confident in O and though it was past time to part with Les, I feel we downgraded in both temperament and coaching ability without shedding the stubbornness that we were trying to move past.

That said:
SEC Champ and I’m in.
10 regular season wins + and a consensus top 10 recruiting class and I will start to believe.
9 regular season wins, a winning SEC record, and a top 10 recruiting class and I will chalk it up to a rough schedule and young team.
8 regular season wins and his seat is on fire, if he pulls in a top 15 class and is .500 or better in SEC play he still gets a shot at 2019, if not he should be gone.
Less than 8 regular season wins and someone else needs to be coaching the 2019 spring game.

A Bama win would be awesome, but would not change the win requirements I feel are more than fair.

I cannot rationally reach this place where some of our fans reside, where they think the worst OM coach ever can turn into someone that can beat Saban for an SEC title. I just can't get there. I suppose I'm completely bereft of imagination and faith, because that's the only way I can figure to get there.

Same. I don't see any logical reason to believe in O. Not one.

U must understand that it takes time for any coach to settle in. Don’t be so critical. In Sabans first year at lsu we lost to UAB.

You're a fricking idiot.

There a few things that make this point completely retarded.

1. Saban took over a LSU team that had been pretty bad for most of the 90s.
2. Saban was successful at Michigan State before coming to LSU.
3. O was sold on the idea of "continuity" and took over a team that had 15 years of consecutive top 10 recruiting classes, majority of which were in the top 5.
4. O is the worst coach in Ole Miss history
5. You're just dumb.
6. O IS NOT frickING SABAN, WOULD YOU RETARDS PLEASE STOP TRYING TO COMPARE THE TWO!!!!!!!!

Phew, glad I got that out of my system.

At LSU, if we are not within a frogs hair of the SECW title damn near every season, we are squandering the resources we have at our disposal. You know...the resources Nick Saban came down from Michigan State to literally explain to our BOS that we were wasting?

We have a shitty coach because it's all we would either pay for or ask for. If you're under the impression high expectations are why we had a coaching search board that consisted of only Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman and our own fricking DL coach and his 10-25 career coaching record, I'm not sure what to tell you.

5 of those are facts, and #5 can be safely assumed based on the suggestion that Saban's UAB loss in 2000 with that program is anywhere in the same universe as Orgeron's Troy loss was with the 2017 LSU program.

well that's the standard O set for himself when he was running his campaign.

I think thats the standard that any of those coaches would have set if they were going to coach at LSU. Has nothing to do with O's "campaign", whatever that is.

I've said none of these things. I only question your absolutism. I want the same thing, but I'm not going to be a brat about it.

If LSU and Orgeron win 11 games and lose to Auburn. And Auburn goes undefeated. Thats an amazing season.

Other coaches have nothing to do with our team. So whoever is saying that is wrong and so are you for using it in a similar, but totally irrelevant situation.

I think you misunderstood my response ..."Really?"
It wasnt to be condescending, it was just to say "really, it's all or nothing?"

might as well copy and paste it somewhere, that Saban loss to UAB follows any mention of 2017 Troy vs LSU the way night follows day.

I agree we have not, but that is an administrative/coaching issue not talent.

Also, there was a stretch where Miles had this team in the discussion every year. Rarely delivered at the end of the season, but we were there. It seems like eons ago now, but look back at 2009 - 2013 and the preseaon and early seasons polls always showed a path for LSU to the title. Now we are freaking #18? That is a long fall...

He has to be significantly better than Miles. Otherwise we paid Miles and O for the same results we could have gotten from Miles.
