if he resigns today, my opinion that he's a a snake oil salesman that stole a job he didn't deserve may change

Win the West. That’s the standard. We rightfully fired a guy that averaged 10 wins per year but couldn’t win the West anymore.

The only justifiable standard is winning the West this year...period.

not a hater or lover, but this season is critical for O's career as a HC. he needs to go 10-2, but 9-3 could be acceptable IF we are an improving team, have developed an offensive attack and gained some swagger to hit the recruiting trail with and are poised to come back strong next year.

remember rohan Davey's senior season with Josh Reed and the Big "Toe" Labrandon toefield. that team lost 3 but was one of the best teams in college football by the end of the year. I remember us trouncing Illinois in the bowl game. we need to finish like that.

Almost every team in the west will have a great defense also. But I guess winning the West should be our standard of success.

And you were ok with Jimbo Fisher going 6-6 using his injured QB as an excuse?

I don't get you people. You will sit there and say that Saban lost to ULM and UAB and that Kirby almost lost to Nicholls in year 1 but don't have the balls to hold O to the same standard that both aforementioned coaches set by winning their division EASILY in year 2. Saban doing it twice.

You mean a national championship winning coach as compared to someone whose best season consisted of losses to a Sun Belt team a historical loss to Miss State and a bowl loss? Yes, of course I was OK with it. I know how to assess different factors and make educated comparisons.

Has to win the West. Les's death knell (besides continualshitty offense) was going 5 years without winning the division. We were told O was the perfect hire because he was already established in the program and at minimum he would be able to maintain status quo and get us back to competing for championships without any kind of rebuild.

I hate Coach Ed Orgeron as the Head Football Coach of the LSU Tigers.

I gave you an upvote for this sentence alone. But I'm sure there are lots of us that feel the exact same way.

For me to change my opinion, he would have to win no less than 10 regular season games this year, win the bowl game to make the final record 11-2. Finish the season ranked in the top ten and bring in a top 5 class.

And as far as I'm concerned, he would have to do the same thing next year as well. He would have to show some consistency year after year in my opinion.

Can he do that? Sure, anything is possible. Will he do that? I seriously doubt it.

Les Miles pre-2014 sure.

He lost to Bama his last 5 tries and didn't hit 10+ wins in his last 2 years and his stubbornness on the offensive side of the ball was getting progressively worse, which led to his demise after that awful Wisconsin performance with the most returning experience on both sides of the ball in the nation.
