So everybody saying they want Fisher? Isn't this the same guy that let Florida state go from national champion to floor mat of their conference now? There's a reason he left! And he never had to play in the western division of the SEC for a whole season until now so we'll see just how good a coach he is

We were told records at previous coaching jobs didnt matter????

Oh look. Another one of Derek’s shills.

Bookmark it. Ignorance is running rampant around here. Look @ what the programs in question had & how long each coach has been there. LSU is undefeated right now with Jimbo or Tom as The Head Coach.

Better than the guy who was once the worst coach in Ole Miss history.

I would take Fisher in a second over Orgeron. Orgeron is doing a great job this season. Fisher is a safer bet to be a better coach long term I think because of his ability to consistently recruit and develop good QBs. Can Orgeron do that? We shall see.

the guy who has succeeded every stop he has made as a OC or HC you mean? The one jake coker said was the best QB coach in the nation? he had one bad year and he was leaving anyway. the guy with a excellent resume? Do you realize he has the 3rd best winning % among active coaches? only behind CUM and petersen? WHat makes you think he could not succeed at LSU and sustain once he gets his guys? I think he made a mistake going to TAMU but that money was impossible to turn down.

LSU has had a very good season so far this year, but o didn't inherit a dumpster fire like Herman did, even though there are several posters on the rant that like to toss that false statement out there.

What Herman has done in less than 2 years with the Texas program is remarkable. And he actually did take over a program that was struggling.

Fisher has done a pretty good job so far as well in just his first season. Two of his losses are to the #1 & 2 ranked teams, and even though they played a bad game against Mississippi State, it's just one game, in his first true season at A&M. Another year or two and I think Fisher is going to have a very tough team year in and year out.

Taking into consideration what all three coaches have accomplished over their entire careers, I would have to flip a coin as to who I would I would choose between Herman and Fisher, with o being the third choice.

If o and his team can finish strong this year (10 or more wins), and if he can continue to win 10 or more games a season, year after year, my choice might change.

Yeah long term at $75 mil? No way and not to mention he's the type to jet to the next shiny coaching job. Nick Saban retires and he would go to Alabama in a heartbeat

And this dude hasn't coached a single game in the SEC much less the SEC WEST as a head coach until this year let him prove he can do it against the level of competition that we have to go through every year then he will have done something

So we dont want to hire desirable coaches that other programs want? Lol got it. You cant not hire someone because you are scared someone else will want them.

Yeah because that means LSU shouldnt ever have had a winning record ever with that ideology. FSU last year proved that Jimbo wont change a philosophy to a young player if shite goes south.

For Alabama this weekend, I'm taking O. He has something brewing here.

Factoring in long-term? Tom Herman. He's 43 (14 years younger than O) and he's starting to turn Texas around.

Charlie Strong couldn't turn Texas around, but Herman will. That's pretty impressive, especially considering the success Strong had before and since he was the HC of Texas.

I think Jimbo is a bit past it and expensive. I think O was the right man for the LSU job at that particular moment.

I think Herman could be starting to engineer a really special run at Texas, however.
