Starter next year

At some point, someone is going to decide to roll with Nuss and let him learn how to optimize his gunslinging. He's always going to be that way cause that's how he is. But I think he'll learn when to pull back, a little, and his TD to INT ratio will be good.

There's no doubt he brings an element to the offense that no one else can bring and my hope is that we, LSU, decides to roll with him and soon (the bowl game). He made Georgia's DBs look very average at times and they are a good college group.

The proper comp for Nuss is actually college-era Baker Mayfield. Mobile, a slinger, exciting personality.

He can be described as having a great arm without going full retard.

Good god you cannot be this dumb. Daniels throws it 5-7 yards. That's all he can do. Jesus Christ I swear. There's no way people are this dumb.

The good news is that with Boutte returning that means JD is likely gone.

Your opinion is worthless concerning nuss given your trash comments. He actually had one bad outing against one of the worst teams in college football trying to do too much with limited opportunity and you base your opinions on that...vs having a monster half against the best d in college...says everything about you.

Daniels was also given a lot more reps and attempts

Sure, and that was for a reason.

My point is that if a half of football is enough to crown Nuss over Daniels, why are we ignoring his other 100 attempts?

Also, what did Nuss do that changes the narrative around him at all? Going into to Saturday Nuss was a gunslinger who doesn’t take care of the ball. Saturday he played like a gunslinger who doesn’t take care of the ball.

You're going to really struggle if/when Daniels comes back and wins the starting job.

If Nuss does, I’ll be fine and support him. It’ll mean he’s gotten a lot better.

That’s the difference between you and I.

I won't struggle ill have already accepted the fact that we are going to waste our wrs and will have the same offense and hopefully manage to go 8-4 or 9-3 if things go really well. Lot more important things in life than LSU. Now the recs, they will struggle and it will cost them dearly. JD isn't fixing to turn into some good passer.

Nuss almost threw 3 ints

ALMOST, bedwetter.

What he did was throw to a spot where his WR was supposed to be.

On his first throw, Boutte wasn't even looking for the ball. All he had to do was turn in when Nuss released it and he could have caught it.

If you're talking about the Jenkins pass, that was a brilliant throw.

The CB had his back to the play and the safety didn't expect Jaray to break out. Jenkins made the play.

That's what a WR is supposed to do because not every throw will be perfect.

What really jumped out to me is how often he hit guys in stride. He gave them opportunities to make plays.

In fairness, JD threw some of his best passes of the season against UGA. The problem is he couldn't get the offense to translate those yards to points.

What’s your beef with Nuss? You really have it out for him for no logical reason.

he had to sling it they were getting blown out. He will learn check downs and when to take chances. Being able to spread the field will do wonders for running game. Early in the season with the offensive line he would have been killed

Agsinst a 4 man rush & soft coverage

Let him compete & win it but competing in that game flow does not tell you much

Interceptions don’t matter when you’re throwing the ball deep

…on 3rd or 4th down maybe. Then they may just replace a punt. But punts flip 40-50 yards of field position. Interceptions…even deep ones…usually only go 20-30.

Turnovers matter.

^ This. A QB comes in and slings the ball all over the field and gives fans a little hope and it absolutely breaks Damone. He pops into every QB thread with his sarcastic comments. It's sad.

who is more likely to improve? daniels or nuss?

one has issues with not wanting to throw the ball downfield
one has issues with wanting to push it downfield bordering on reckless

one has had a whole season of starting and has regressed. another seemingly has improved quite a bit since his awful September outing against southern.

Obviously we needed him to sling it around to have even a shot in the 2nd half but there were a few throws he was bailed out by our WR… which you can’t say has happened much all year.

Great QBs throw the ball in a spot with trust that their receiver will make a play on it

Nuss can improve, for sure.

I just want the best guy to play, and LSU is a better team with Nuss, Daniels, and Howard going at it during the spring.

if you asked the receivers who they preferred, I don't think a single one of them would pick jayden daniels over garett nussmeier as it affects their stats.

boutte has 2 TD's in 13 games. that just seems incredibly wrong.

Just not some of the spots Nuss throws.

That deep pass to Jenkins was risky risky risky. Under throw into double coverage isn’t what great QBs do.

This is truth. When a defense has to defend the whole field, it opens up the run more and you can do more things. If there is no threat to get beat over the top because the opposing QB has shown a pattern of not throwing deep, they will condense the first 20 yards or so and that makes it really hard on the passing and running game.
