Nuss reminds me of Drew Brees at the end of his career.

Remember Brees’ last season when he was playing with an undisclosed injury? Sean Payton was really coy about it but come to find out he had an injury to his throwing shoulder IIRC.

Anyway it limited Drew’s ability to throw beyond 40 yards. Deep balls were constantly under thrown and defenses figured it out really quickly. Safeties were not afraid to lean into the box a little more because they knew that if they were beat deep Drew would under throw to his target and they would catch up pretty easily.

I just see a similar situation with Nuss.

There is no way a 4000 yard plus thrower last year is missing these many deep and wide open targets. Whatever injury Nuss has, it’s obvious he is not fully recovered.

Except Drew was good on short throws and without the occasional hideous decision making.

Why do yall think Nuss was ever good at the deep balls? He's at close to 34% on throws over 25 yards. Yes he usually has great arm strength, but his touch is awful.

You answered your question. When he missed, it was almost always overthrown balls and even if short, it didn't look like a wounded duck.

Agreed, but why everyone keeps bringing up the deep throws like he was some deep throwing savant just isn't true.

The concerning part is even his 10 yard throws are pretty bad.

I think two things can be true:
1. Nussmeier has always been inconsistent with his deep ball accuracy.
2. He still looks worse right now than he did last year.

Either way he’s always lacked precision on deep ball throws

The pass he threw behind Aaron Anderson is a prime example. He had his feet facing forward instead of the direction he was trying to throw to. Proper footwork would at least make him throw accurate short passes.

I don’t see Nuss kneeling during the anthem, disrespecting veterans. Brees did

Nuss would have been sacked here

This isn't true at all. Just go watch videos of last season. He underthrows deep balls in every big game.

The first pass and play of the game, a 5 yard dump to Bauer Sharp, it was a terrible throw. The TD pass, maybe Nuss was playing 3D chess throwing it directly at Sage Ryan, or it was also an awful and horrible inaccurate throw.

I don’t know about all of this deep ball talk, but Nuss was always accurate on the basic route tree. Very accurate. He’s complete arse now. How?

The underthrow to Hilton in second half looked like a jr high QB trying to throw a NFL sized ball. He shot putted it more than he threw it. He definitely doesn't look normal but no matter the scenario BK has mishandled it the last few weeks.

So are you saying most of his deep misses were underthrown balls that looked like a wounded duck?

We've been told Nuss must be dealing with an injury since last year. It's time to just admit he's not that good
