It seems logical the cyst would become a problem with increase in the amount of practice time and game play. If Nuss gets drafted, it would be as a backup. When he was needed most to fill in for the starter QB, the risk of the cyst pain coming back goes way up. Just when a team needs Nuss to fill in for a few weeks, he has to get an operation and recover at the same time the starting QB is recovering. Then what?

If you were an NFL GM and your job could be on the line, you wouldn’t draft Nuss.

It was obvious from game 1 that he was injured!

Theres no way you don't. Sorry bro, spinal cysts don't cause you to throw to check downs on every single play.

That twinge you feel when throwing deep certainly doesn’t lend itself to being comfortable throwing deep. When your job is to distribute the ball without turnovers and you know your reputation is a gunslinger, you probably start to prefer check downs.

What ever possessed this guy to keep playing while hurt and sinking the team and his prospects? Unreal watching this unfold this year.

no one wants to hear this but it was incredibly selfish of nuss and terrible management of kelly to let it go down like it did.

I don't know who to hurt for more, the team, the player or the fans.

Even if he had surgery it was only a 3 week recovery.

Why not have the surgery if it is only a three week recovery?

Because it’s asymptomatic currently and could remain that way for years. If it causes pain again then is the time to cut, not now.
