Jayden Daniels had incredible arm talent and almost always had the ball in a good spot for the WR to make a catch.

You are correct. But only if you are talking about his Heisman year. His first LSU season was mediocre at best.
Remember the Georgia game. Nuss got praise from the media. Daniels not so much.

Burrow and Daniels are brilliant QBs. Nuss has a howitzer attached to his shoulder (and could also become a brilliant QB).

OP said “arm talent”, that’s sufficiently specific.

These conversations are kinda fun but oh so meaningless. If that extra arm strength made a difference, he wouldn't have been a backup this long.
If a cannon was all it took to be an elite QB, every strong-armed baseball pitcher would also be an incredible QB. But that doesn't happen.

Being an effective QB has little to do with raw arm strength. Sure, that helps, but it's more about accuracy, and is actually most about the ability to read defenses, make quick decisions, and throw on time, accurately, to the right guy.

We hope for Mettenburger with more mobility.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the 3-5 best QBs to ever play football.

His accuracy is the best I’ve ever seen when throwing on the run. Michael Vick was next best at that to me. Both had very strong arms and accuracy outside the pocket.

Definitely Mett.

I'd say it's a good comp. I'd say if we are simply talking arm strength Jamarcus had more than both.

Early Nuss reminded me very much of Jamie Howard. Cannon arm - a gunslinger who liked to go deep to a fault.

The difference I see is Howard was thrust into the fray before he was ready and was very poorly manage by Curley and Amedee to the extent that there were scars from that mismanagement that he never really overcame.

The bowl game last year gave me some hope that this is different. Nuss still has the gunslinger in him but IMHO has been managed much better and can channel the natural instinct with practical efficiency more than Howard could in situation he was in.

Now yes! But think when he was young. Don’t compare Nuss now to Roger’s now! Be fare about comparisons..

Burrow had attempted 39 passes when he got to LSU and played 2018 in an entirely different offense than Nuss will. Nuss has 219 attempts with a LOT more game action.

Nuss and Burrow were both backups and most of Nuss' game action was garbage time reps. Neither had started a game. Also the offense is entirely different for Nuss as well since it won't be the same OC or the same as what they did with Jayden.

Are you serious? He was a true freshman then backed a transfer who had 3 years starting experience that ended up winning a heisman.

I got a million downvotes when I said Nuss reminds me of Aaron Rodgers.

Strong arm, quick release, gunslinger mentality

Have you even watched Aaron Rodgers? Having been a Packer fan my entire life I can tell you Aaron Rodgers is NOT a gunslinger. He doesn't throw interceptions because he is very cautious and efficient with the football.

Favre now is an excellent comparison. The throw against Georgia in the SEC Title game where he spun out of a sack and rolled out to find Jenkins in the endzone is vintage Favre. He will also take too many chances because of his arm, that is also a Nuss trait.
