Giles will be the best offensive player next year.

White chose 40 because of Duke Riley

No doubt Devin prob had a special relationship w/ Duke, but the story around here is that Devin wanted to resume wearing his old high school jersey number. I'll ask his family next time I see one of them.

Not mad that he got it but I wanted to see Devin White to get it. He’s the best athlete on the field and I like to see 7 on defense.

Maybe he spent an entire season busting his arse working with the team and earned the respect of his team and coaches over an entire year. Just because he transferred doesn’t mean he won’t bleed purple and gold when he graduates

It was mentioned in one of the broadcasts that he chose the 40 for that reason. Doesn't make it true but that's where I was getting that from.

One of his cousins works for the same company as me but I'm not going to bug him about it

Rondell Mealey, James Gilyard, Ali Highsmith, Trev Faulk are just a few that played well in that number.

You can't mention former LSU no. 7's without mentioning Bert Jones. If we are talking about tradition no. 7 starts and ends there.

Yeah, I remember hearing that. Unfortunately, we've all seen situations where info on the broadcast wasn't 100% correct.

Thank you.

The fan chatter about no. 7 is disrespectful to all the great players who wore it in years past. (Bert Jones, Alan Risher among them.... I think 7 is a fantastic quarterback number.) It's like the foundation of knowledge about LSU football that these dweebs possess goes back no further back than 2010.

Team votes on 18. What player gave 7 to Fournette?
