However, if he didn't receive any extra benefits a simple "no" answer would suffice.

Is that all the question asked? He received a one question Request for Admissions and won't answer it? OC should file a Motion requesting that unanswered requests for admissions be deemed admitted. In TN, those Motions are granted by statute if requests aren't answered within 30 days. You also only have 30 days to file written objections to any discovery within 30 days or you are compelled to respond pursuant to the rules of civ pro here, albeit I rarely see attorneys try to assert that argument for discovery.

What if he received extra benefits and didn't report them on his tax filings. Wouldn't that be a crime worthy to claim the 5th?

Don't know why everyone is excited. When Duke is found guilty, some other school will suffer the consequences.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The parties will likely settle before Zion has to be deposed and/or admit anything.

This thing is pretty big and on a lot of people's radar; doubt you can just hush it up.

What an odd situation. They're suing Zion for breach of contract.

Based on the article they're saying that if they can prove that Zion was not legally an amateur athlete then the contract didn't need language to protect amateur athletes.

Zion is saying that the contract was null because it didn't have required amateur athlete protection language.

So if Zion took money, the sports agency will get a huge payout. If they can't prove he took money, they're s.o.l.

I think that's how it reads.

I’m sure the will wade standard of if he’s innocent he should voluntarily meet with the court and ncaa otherwise he’s guilty will apply here

Oh yes, the popular legal standard created by Justice L. Earl in the case of LSU & Dickie V vs. William Frank Wade.

I think it's time for Jordy and T-Bob to have Dick back on the show.

Next week? Unless you know something others don’t, he is supposed to make his announcement this week. And according to Gumbyxl, it is supposed to be tomorrow (Wed.).
