Nothing will be better for Zion to LSU/pelican fans.

Helps Dickie V look more like a POS and lead the pels to the playoffs.

Also if Will pulls in Cisse in the same week this hits OHHHH BOY

We have to let the process play out and wait for the facts for the great and honorable Coach K.

no, he doesn't. He, with assistance of counsel, has to provide written objections/responses to written questions. Big difference. We'll see whether or not Duke gets exposed.

Would be hilarious if it happened. Unfortunately, it is very likely to be settled before any testimony.

I'm pretty sure he can and will either plead the 5th or use some other tactic to avoid answering the questions. anyone who thinks Duke will be exposed is delusional. Dickie already knows the truth just like we know the truth.

Zion's attorneys are expected file an appeal. Therefore, nothing is settled. There is a lot of legal wrangling left before he may be forced to give sworn testimony.

I hope that he has to provide evidence asked for by the opposing counsel. Time and judges will tell.

If Duke gets exposed, which is unlikely, then we can expect real change to the CBB model. Until then, the NCAA and sports media will continue to focus on lower and mid tier teams when everyone knows everyone is cheating.

From his Lawyer:

"If you're accepting improper benefits, you are not an eligible student-athlete, and the NCAA can rule retroactively that you are ineligible. It has happened numerous times before. ... This is not a set-in-stone determination that he's an eligible student-athlete, and we have the opportunity to prove that he was not eligible in that time frame, and that's what we're going to do."

How big of news would it be that Dickie V uses his charity to funnel money to the players his board members are recruiting. I'm not saying it happens, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It's not a criminal matter, so the 5th Amendment protections won't apply (unless testifying to such could subject him to criminal charges).

They'll appeal the district court's ruling. Assuming the judgment is upheld, then Zion would presumably have 30 days to answer the Request for Admissions. However, those are often times objected to and/or denied for various reasons. They'll likely try to depose Zion, but there will be a fight about that as well.....which can tie up any action for months.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The parties will likely settle before Zion has to be deposed and/or admit anything.

Nothing Zion would testify to would incriminate him. He can't plead the 5th. There are objections that could potentially be made by his attorney but I doubt they're sustained. Further, this is discovery, which provides a lot more leeway than what is or isn't admissible at trial. If his testimony at a depo or statements in written interrogatories/request for admissions could lead to relevant information, it's ripe for discovery. I have no idea what exactly the questions are, but Zion may be faced with spilling the beans or committing perjury.

This is also very possible

I agree with what you said and referenced. However, if he didn't receive any extra benefits a simple "no" answer would suffice. The fact that he's fighting to not answer the question under oath tells you all you need to know about Duke.
