How do you turn them loose exactly?

Whenever we had Muschamp (who I have tremendous respect for), we used to blitz one more then they had blockers. We constantly did that in the right situations. Also, when we blitzed it wasn't obvious where it was coming from. Now the few times we blitz it is pretty easy for anyone watching to tell where the heat is coming from.

If you don't have anything productive to add to the discussion just stay out of the thread. There are plenty of stupid threads on this board that you can go talk in.

The co-dc's have been calling blitzes and some of them have been checked out off because of what the offense comes out in

The Zone blocking scheme caught the coaches and players by surprise, UF hadn't run their offense like that all year. A lot of the blitzes they had designed for the week were probably useless against the wider scheme

I'm not breakin your balls, I'm just sick of everyone telling the LSU coaches what to do. If you were qualified for the job then you would be there. Our coaching staff is excellent.

And chances are, if you know it, they definitely know it.

Excellent point.

Please tell me how its physically possible to stop a blitz whenever there are more blitzers then blockers???

I'm not talking about a QB making a quick read and dumping it off. I'm talking about, if we are blitzing the way we used to, how is it possible for the QB to have as much time as they are all having to make passes down field?

Look, I'm certainly not a negatiger. I love LSU and I will watch every second of every game for the remainder of the season regardless of what happens. This is just something that we do that I don't agree with and wish we would change.

was the in response to texastiger38?

because if it was, i promise you he knows more about football, what LSU's defensive scheme is, and what opposing teams run to stop it then anyone on this board

No, it wasn't a response to anyone in particular. Hadn't even read his post yet.

There is no doubt that I don't know as much about football as the LSU coaching staff and some people on this board. I do know a hell of a lot more then the average person though and I am trying to make points for my opinion. There will obviously be people on the other side of the fence with this, and I can respect what they say. I just would like to hear what people have to say on why we don't blitz.

[quote]At least teach the D line how to rush. Right now they are playing containment, they are not rushing the QB. LSU has the least aggressive D I have seen since the Tepper era. Actually think we had more sacks and turnovers then than we do now.[/quote
READ AND REACT , I hate those words It didnt work in the seventies it doesnt work now

Wake up. These D coordinators had as much experience being coordinators as you or I had before this year. This defense is not working, my wife can even see this. Any one with even basic football knowledge can see there are major problems with this staff in the areas of personnel issues, schemes and adaptation. They may be fine position coaches, that's where they need to be. "REad and react" was Teppers scheme, and we are following that path once again.

Then your wife should get out of the kitchen and coach LSU football.

Maybe they have been reading up on a book called Complete Linebacking to help LSU defense get to a "new level".

Probably have more faith in her if she did, than the co-DC's. It's not working. These guys are ruining some very talented athletes.

Have you seen the one where Mudminnow compared our current team to the steaming pile of shite that was Tepper's defense in the 90's?

Note to Coach Miles: A camel is a horse designed by a committee. Hire a good D coordinator for next year.

Ok...got a question for you:

If we blitz...who's gonna provide the over the top coverage. Do we have the corners to put on an island by themselves? Who covers the back slipping out on the wheel route? Blitz the safety's? Who's got over the top coverage? What about the quick slant/hot route from the tight end?

To me blitzes are a calculated gamble. We need to stunt more with Pittman/Alem and Predator coming outside in.

And no...I'm not a coach..nor did I sleep at a Holiday Inn....I'm merely a fan...and a high school Football official.

Who wants to eat some crow today? We blitzed more than usual last night and it worked. We didn't give up one big play because of the blitz. I hope we keep up the agressive play calling.
